that's what i'm going to use. i'm just going to use the gear channel and not the panel. i only need enough to mount the cabinets.
the panels aren't worth it as the accessories are really limited.
i am going to use the "storewall" panels for a big chunk of back wall. they have a lot of accessories and it looks really good.
i got my estimate from complete garage. four tall cabinets, two large standing cabinets on wheels, 8 foot workbench, a 4x4 underceiling storage shelf, half a wall of storewall, misc this and that... $2800 delivered and installed. not too bad.
i also got an estimate on garage painting. it's going to be about a grand to do the walls and ceiling. i thought that was a little high, so i'm going to check around on that. my garage is only 20x23. we just paid $800 with another painter to do our kitchen, dining room, the ceilings in those rooms, two baths, and a spare bedroom. that was two coats and paint included.
my garage estimate sounds a little high, but who knows maybe there is more to painting garages than meets the eye

Home Depot sells rubber wall base. You can probably find it cheaper online though. I bought my pergo type install kit at Costco you will need 4 boxes from memory for a standard 2 car garage.

Painters finished today.
Garage and ceiling painted. Check.
Not too shabby for a 40 year old garage with plaster walls Looks much better than it did. I should have done some before and after photos.
Floor tiles ordered. Check.
I went with the sam's club tiles for about $1.90 per tile, delivered with sales tax.
My cabinet deal is almost complete. I am waiting for my completegarage.com rep to get back to me on his inventory. I went with the whirlpool gladiator line. Reasonably priced and looks good. I will probably put a deposit on that order tomorrow.
Sandoval: What should I expect to pay for the foam underlayment for a standard 2 car garage? Are there any concerns about that foam and moisture?
Also, what should i expect to pay for the rubber base molding to do a standard 2 car garage?
One other thing, do you have an exterior door in your garage? How did you tackle the molding and the tiles in that area? I'm not sure how to cut it to make it look right.
Also, how much of gap did you leave between the wall and the edge of the tile? I know you need to leave some room for temperature expansion.

i got the sam's tiles in today. i laid down about 200 square feet in about an hour and a half. i was alone and i was taking my time. looks awesome. i am not dissapointed with the sam's product at all, and quite frankly, i can't tell the difference between the almost double the cost racedeck. this is the bargain deal folks if you're looking for garage tiles.
if you had two, or even three people you could smoke through this job. i will probably finish the brunt of it tomorrow and leave the fine cuts for the weekend when i have more time. i am going wall to wall with it, so the cuts at the end should be the most difficult part and even that shouldn't be that hard.

The Costco Garage Cabinets and Moto Floor (aka Race Deck) tiles are going on sale I think in July. The tiles will be marked down to $89/48 Sqft box ($1.85 Sqft). When I find my coupon book that I picked up this weekend I will post the dates.

Thanks
don't forget, if you have a costco or sams in your state, you will have to pay sales tax on these mail order items.
