Overstock.com garage tiles?

anybody tried them yet? they're pretty cheap compared to racedeck, etc... they don't appear to have any accessories like edge moldings, etc... though, so it may not look as professional when installed.

getting ready for a garage makeover.

same as race Deck just like Costco. All three are made by Snap Lock Industries then private labeled. Race Deck will tell you they are thinner it is BS the tread pattern and limited color selection is the only difference.

did you use them in your garage?

were you able to get the trim pieces for the front and sides?

it's about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of other comparable tiles.

when i read some reviews on the overstock product, some people were dissapointed that it was just hard plastic. i've never seen any of these products in person. are the racedecks hard plastic too? i had the feeling some people were expecting them to be somewhat "rubbery".

The solid tiles are all hard plastic -- the perforated ones are too but because they are perforated it gives them a softer "feel" (and quieter to walk on).

If they were soft then heavy items would sink in and leave an impression. How would a roll away ride over the patterned tiles? Bumpy?

I used Moto floor from Costco. I also used pergo floor foam under the tiles. they sell them in rolls at HD, Lowes, and costco in the flooring isle.

what did you pay per square foot for the costco stuff? any idea if sams's sells a similar product? are your costco tiles the coin pattern? i'm curious too about how roll-away products move over that surface.

the stuff on overstock is a smoking deal. i'd buy it today if i knew i could get the trim pieces for it, which they don't seem to list on the site. it's dirt cheap compared to the prices i've been quoted for racedeck.

sandoval: did you go right up to the edge of your walls, and if so, how hard was it to trim it?

$4,625 + shipping to do my garage. Polished concrete is looking pretty good right now.

I bought mine on sale at costco 1.80 sqft or so.
I cut the tiles with a fine tooth blade (Plywood/finidhing blade) on a table saw. Super easy to cut, like butter.
I cut them about a 1/4" from the all and then used the rubber wall base Similar to this http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....nown&SKU=92334 I used a tube adhesive and caulking gun.
My pattern is a diamond plate patter
Edge, I actually used the Race Deck Edge in Black I bought the individual peices at Griots garage. http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?searchtext=edge It works with the moto floor.

If you don't put the foam under the tiles they will make a loud clacking sound.I drove me nuts.

I have not had any problems using my floor jacks I have the Costco Alum Jack and HF Alum Jack both have worked fine no damage. If you plan on using jack stands get Jack stands with a flat plate. Griots used to make them but it looks like they are discontinued. I have a set and love them. Normal jack stands with angle iron will pierce the tiles.

Try these:

A word of warning about overstock...I don't know how durable these tiles are, but I've bought stuff from them that they just threw in a box and it was damaged during shipping. They acted like it was my fault when I discussed it with them. I'd never shop there again.

i have garagetech.com and completegarage.com coming out on tues to give me estimates. the garagetech stuff is kind of cool because they completely cover your walls with "storewall" material. our house is 40 years old so the walls look kind of ****ty.

Garagetek quoted for me as well, just can't justify $5.00 per sf of wall space for that stuff. An IMO you need to do an entire wall or nothing or else it looks kinda silly.

no, that's just the wall panels that everything attaches to. The quote was about $6 grand to cover three walls of a standard two car garage. Flooring, cabinets, etc. were extra. My total quote was about $10 grand, and it wasn't very extensive.

looks like i better get the paint roller out, cause i'm not spending 6g's to just cover the wall. i have completegarage.com coming out in the morning for an estimate. we'll see how that goes.
