997 Turbo vs 997 GT2

today i drove my 997 turbo for the first time since i received my GT2. i truly felt like driving a luxury GT in comparison. Much softer suspension....exhaust and engine sound totally muted....the whole car feels like a cat compared to the GT2 which is much more raw and nervous and really demands to be driven. in no way was it boring, just totally relaxed driving. fir the first time i also did not feel like the turbo is asking me to step on it. but when i did, it almost reminded me when i took a friends carrera s for a spin after getting used to my turbo.

surely the difference in acceleration between turbo and GT2 is not as between carrera and turbo but the push of the GT2 is far more intense than the turbo.

where the turbo would shift into next gear, the GT2 would still be rushing forward.

where the turbo can be driven with full confidence, the GT2 really requires the driver to be alert. i would have no problem driving my turbo with psm switched off. not so in the GT2.

the 997 GT2 really is in a league of it's own.

i was thinking of selling my turbo cause i thought i would have no need for it as my daily driver is my cayenne turbo.

after today, i decided to keep it. it will be my every second day driver and the GT2 the weekend warrior

Isn't it weird how the rpm's feel like they go higher in the GT2? It seems like so much more time between shifts but it should feel the opposite.

I appreciate the comparisons. I have an opportunity to purchase a new GT2 this week but I will need to part with my TT. Is there that much of a difference? Now that you have the GT2 and have had an opportunity to experience it, would you part with the TT and pay the premium to get the GT2?
