Video Slicks Rain are Cheap Insurance

Driving on a track with slick rain tires is almost as fun as on dry pavement ! See the link for a video of a fun run with friends while visibility was almost inexistent...

What track was that ?

Dude, do you play the radio while you are driving? The sound of the GT3 engine is way better than that crappy singer you had on there. No offense meant.

Eric Clapton a crappy singer

The track is Calabogie Motorsports Park in Ontario (Canada). Brand new and state of the art.

I love Eric Clapton's rock music, no his blues, but I didn't even recognize him in that song. But my real point was that I think most of us would rather hear that sweet motor. We can listen to the "other" music anytime.

I hear you but I always get mix comments around that. Half say they would prefer not to put music and the other half would... since I am in that second half, I tend to make that call. May be I should revise this at least for this forum ??

Sorry to have hijacked the thread about this. This should really be about the fun you had on track.

No offense at all ! Actually, this was all about how much fun we can have in wet conditions with rain slicks. For me it's less stress and much more speed

You're braver than I. I've seen a number of guys around here ding up their cars in the rain at the track.

Seriously, with rain slicks you have so much grip that you don't need to be brave. This run was very safe and we were far from the limits of those tires.

Anyone else who ever tried wet slicks on this forum ?

The GT3 cups come with wet slicks as the delivery tire. The first time I went out on them, I could not believe the grip. There are even softer compound versions too, if you really want to be fast in the wet. You can often find takeoff cup rain tires cheap but they may be too tall for a street car.

I didn't even think drivers would still track in the rain.
