It really does lose about 50+lbs over stock.

This what I want to see from a manufacturer:
OEM system: Headers = 11 lbs. @ (22 lbs total) The primary mufflers = 22 lbs @ (44 lbs total). This equals 66 lbs.

FVD race GT3 exhaust: Headers w/ cats = 12 lbs. @ (24 lbs total)
Connector pipe to center collector & hardware = 1.5 lbs @ (3 lbs total). This equals 27 lbs.

66 lbs - 27 lbs = 39 lbs Total absolute weight savings as stated.

This is what I demand from other companies. Do not just throw numbers at me.

Cheers,
GT3Ranger...Juan

Jon after re-reading my post I realized that my last comment did not turn out as I intended. What I was stating was that I do not want the manufactures to just throw weight saving numbers at me without a detailed itemizing of the savings, part by part. I did not mean you.

I apologize for any misunderstanding.

Cheers,
Juan

Juan,
No worries and no apology necessary. I did not take your post to be inflammatory. I have the same concerns about manufacturers claims as you do.

In terms of the Quicksilver, I had heard from 2 unbiased sources that it really does lose over 50lbs.

Regards,
Jon

Jon if I'm not mistaken there is a member in the forum who has the QuickSilver headers on. I will not name anyone. If he cares to chime in with his experience with the product I'll leave it up to him.
We did speak about these headers.
You had said you were told they would not be available for a couple of months. So am a little confused.

Anyway we'll see.

The SS headers will be big bucks. As a correlation the SS headers and race cats for the M5 were $12,000, but thats a V-10.

Cheers,
Juan

I believe you are right in terms of a member running the Quicksilver system. I think he is a beta tester for the system before release.

Add another to the list, Manthey has a system. I don't have pics, but claimed 23kg (50.6lbs) in weight loss.

The SS systems are always top notch. And HP ratings they produce are pretty dead on the MAHA dyno that they have.

The ETA of the system, sadly , is VERY late in arriving (summer).

Yes they did confirm that. Waiting for Jan to send some pics of this jewel as he called it.

Can someone explain to me the Supersprint dyno charts?
What is stock and what are the gains from the SS system?
Any idea of the damage? I guess 8 to 10K.

Wow, some great setups becoming available... For BMW, Supersprint is top-notch. Granted I can't comment on final weight/sound/power, but I think the Quicksilver and AWE kits look a little more promising (though AWE only drops 16lbs). For some reason I don't like the FVD mufflers, but their header/cat combo looks great. Cargraphic exhaust combo, anyone?

To add to the multiple choices I understand that GMG will have a headers system for the GT3/RS.
WyattH the AWE system not only doesn't save much weight but only makes a whooping 10 hp. To me the finished look of the product does not appeal to me.
The FVD headers is a total muffler delete system w/ the race version. It's the headers, 200 cell cats, elbow pipe to the center resonator and the exhaust tips. Thats it and it sound vicious.
