evlgt2 is infamous around these parts
Doesn't anyone remember what happened with the last GT2? A couple suckers bought in early, even paying stupid dealer markups. Then all the posers realized the GT2 was too hardcore and tried getting out of their "exclusive, limited production" Porsche- only to have the market fall out from under them because 1) Porsche built way more than they initially promised and 2) everyone else realized that the GT2 is not worth a $60K+ premium over a standard Turbo.

Anyone who beleives Porsche's claims of extremely limited production is kidding themselves- remember what Porsche did/is doing with the 996GT2, 996GT3, Carrera GT, 997GT3, 997GT3 RS ?? As is the case with every Porsche built in the past ~10 years, the hype will die down, production will continue, and prices will plummet. There is a reason Porsche is the most profitable car company, and it isn't because they care about, (or keep promises to) their customers.

evlgt2, u may be right...but still Porsche makes the best damn sports car in the market and I will keep buying 911s as long as I can...and if I can't afford a new one, I will buy a used one....I love these cars.

on a side note...people complain about Porsche making too many cars and plummeting values...then people complain about Porsche building not enough cars and prices rising...wtf???????

when I bought my GT2 a dealer I;d bought 11 cars from over the years told me the price was "whatever he could get for it" I told him no thanks my price was MSRP and thats what I got mine for, anyone who pays a premium for this car is being taken to the cleaners and it realy hurts the marque as come resale time these are unhappy people realizing they were duped 50 k over list, yeah when hell freezes over
