Porsche CGT no longer holds the fastest time on the RING!

Hey guys,
well the Pagani Zonda F clubsport did it. Its a more extreme version of the Zonda F with 650hp instead of 605hp. It has a Ti exhaust and more aggressive bumpers for extra downforce. Keep in mind that it's fully street legal..

drum rolls.....

it did in 7 min 27.8 sec compared to 7 min 32.4 sec for the CGT

Those times are not comparable if ran by different drivers and different tires and different weather, etc, etc,. The CGT is still the best design and the others are just minor examples which have been specially developed for either best top speed (Veyron) or best handling (least weight and lowest center of gravity cars like the Ariel Atom, another Gordon Murray designer car which is not really a practical streetcar with supercar abilities like the CGT).

CGT time is 7.28. It beat it by .01 secs...not bad for the extra 700k.

All heckling aside, the Zonda is an amazing car, none more so than in this final extreme version. Looks fantastic too.

the zonda only beat the CGT by .2 seconds. the CGT has run 7:28.0, and im sure with walter driving he could easily beat the zonda in the CGT. a lot of the times actually depend on the conditions of the track on that particular day.

The 7:28 CGT time was achieved with WR behind the wheel.

That is a race car, take look at some of the pics, nothing near a street car.

But in all honesty, did anyone believe the CGT was the fastest circuit car in the world???? It's definitely up there, but the CCX in the right hands would do them all bad, and the Zonda is showing that there is more competition in the ranks as well.

I never knew the GT was the fastest street legal car on the 'ring.
Amazing!

Even the Veyron did worse.

It all makes sense though, the GT was driven by Walter Rorhl

How did the SLR 722 do?
