Short answer is the cup cars are for normal racing.

RSR are typically endurance 12/24 hour racers.

The link should give you some details. RSR's have a wider track/wider wheels are lighter and have a 485 HP motor. 911 cups are based on GT3's and have a sequential shifter. The main differene $500k Vs. $200k.

mmm RSR.... if i had more money in my pocket than what is required to just fuel my 996... this would be my street car...legal or not!! who needs luxery when you can have kick *** NA factory performance

main differences between the two cars are, rsr is 3.8l running on throttle bodies,wider track width which results in wider body panels, there are some suspension differences. ALMS GT2 runs rsr's and ROLEX GT runs cup cars. speed world challenge runs cup car as well but is more open to modification than Rolex.
