997 GT2 vs Z06 C6
#34
Hmm... 4.4 isn't very close to 3.7 or 3.9 though, which is the 0-62 that I've seen the most. Must have been the launch technique or something. Either way, whatever, both fast cars in a straight line that distinguish themselves in other ways...

i own both a 2007 gt3 and a 2007 Z06.
unless you have driven both, you are just bench racing.
i know we are comparing a gt2 to a Z06...the gt2 is just a gt3 with a turbo, so, no thank you.
the normally aspirated vette will chowder pretty much anything...itll have way more down below than any pcar, the torque is crazy and ill put it up against most anything that produced in a normal fashion. its 7.0 liters people, aluminum 427 ci block and heads! its huge.
and yes, the interior sucks, big time.
here are some 1/4 times for the Z, not my cup of tea (i prefer laguna seca), but it seems as though americans (me being one of them) cant get 1/4 miles and ovals out of their collective minds.

Does it have the best interior? - NO - almost laughable that it always seems to come back to the interior. The Z06 is an awesome car. If the interior is the hang-up, spend $10k at Carvaggio and get new seats and all the fancy leather and trim you want. Program the damn torque management out and slap on a better set of rubber and you will have a car that meets the interior requirements and will have no problems hitting the #'s the GT2 does. Still for U$80-90k less.
If that doesn't do it for you. Take the U$80k Z06 and send it to Lingenfelter along with a check for U$50k and they will send you back a car with anywhere from 800 to 1000 hp and your still U$50k under the GT2.
PS - I have a buddy with a GT2 with the SpeedGalley 650. I usually just see his tail-lights. Wicked fast car.

But it is faster than the Buquebus. But you can get a ham & cheese sandwich, drink a beer and do some duty free shopping on that thing.

The mere fact that there are even debates over which car is better says something about the Z06. It cost U$100k less.

compare the GT2 to something; compare it to a ZR-1. I believe the z06 is on the same level as the GT3.

The ZR-1 still won't have the interior upgrades everybody is looking for.
#44
YES - yes it will. The seats in the GT2 make you feel fast. They are awesome - I really wish that GM would offer some kind of seat upgrade that would be comparable to what comes in the GT2 or the GT3 for that matter.

Let's say...you had a ZO6 and a GT2 parked side by side. You give both sets of keys to groups of race car drivers, car enthusiasts, the automotive media and the average Joe shmuck who can drive a car. Their task: Drive them for a month on both the track & on the street (no off-roading allowed) - ***** out. Return them to see which one of 'em held up best to the punishment.
Now who saved 100k?
