I talked to him a while back while he was developing these and he said it was a PITA to get them done. Let us know if he now sells them.

This is a flashlight forum. I'm sure there is about 30 guys on the site, willing to build it for less than a 150.00 dollars (you supply parts). You should see the HID flashlights they build, smaller than a 2-D flashlight.

Those turn signals take about 50 hours to build, and consist of about 240 tiny plastic pieces which are plastic welded together to mold the LED's into the signals. If you can find someone to build them for 150 bucks, let me know and we will stop messing with them, lol.

They start here:

Next stage is to hack up new 997TT turn signals:

Then the finished product:

If you can do that for a couple hundred bucks, I will buy them from you....seriously.

Well, I didn't say mine would look professional ;P. Seriously, that's a great job as always from IA and Stephen's team.\

BTW, the cost I quoted was just for parts. My labor is free (for me), but if I were to add up the hours, would probably come out twice as much as yours, making yours a bargain.

Wow I can only imagine the labor to build that set of lights - they do look awesome though! I was contemplating a similiar custom job using Audi S6 DRL's and molding them into my s2000 bumper.....I have a link somewhere if you guys are interested, just let me know!

A few questions Doc (IA team)

1) do you have pics of these lights turned on?

2) What color output are these lights?

3) Are they meant for DRL use or blinkers only? or parking?

4) What would it cost to do something like this but using the Audi s6 drl's instead? Anyway to contact you guys?

I would love to get my hands on a set from you for my GT3 but at $3k it's way out of my budget....

thanks
rick

btw here's a pic of the S6 DRL's in action

Keep in mind here we start with all Porsche OEM parts. Have you sourced a set of signals from a TT yet? Last cost was like 400.00 a side! So you have almost 16-1800 wrapped up in parts alone. The TT conversion is 5K because you have to cut the housing in half and shorten it by 50 % to pass the radiators. So to reconfigure the driving and parking light is almost impractical. The NA car takes about 30 hours to hand plastic weld apx 200 pieces to form the molds the way we want them. Then you have to make it withstand the heat and cold fluctuations from outside and reseal the whole unit.

Could a person do these, you bet but it isn't as easy as it looks I assure you.

I will let Karl answer the rest of the questions.
