notice the prices of the RS

there are about 20 cars available right now - that's about 1 out of 12 that are currently on the market
low mileage cars are still fetching high premiums
cars with a couple thousand miles are getting around MSRP+$20k

pretty much all production are done. no more cars coming in the next 12 month before year 2008 is over. if the sellers are not in a rush to sell i don't see the price will come down much.

The odd thing is I also got a message for my 08 RS - I don't give out my home number because I don't check the messages at home. My wife told me the message stated they were interested in my "Green RS" I haven't responded yet.

RS pricing
the RS pricing market is tough to follow, just not a ton of transactions, but for the most part, i would say i dont think it has move any bit lower and for good sub-1k to 2k mile examples of white, green, and orange...figure 25 to 35 over sticker. add 7,8k for an 08 over an 07, i think. subtract 5k for black. another 5k for silver.
the mid-level msrps in the 142, 146 range, pccbs, a few nice interior pieces but nothing over the top, sell the best since the msrp+premium keeps you in a reasonable price range.
i sold the white RS 142 sticker for solid money, pretty quickly without any hastles headaches or tire kicking. dudes have "offered" bigger premiums on the green, whic isnt for sale.
the demand for the car has slackened much, if at all.
the car is awsome. that hasnt changed at all.

some of these dealers are pricing these cars so far above the market they cause them not to move. i guess if you have a client list of big shot machas, with huge pockets, and russell crowe walks in and has to have it, an extra 25k to Mr. Crowe or Mr. Cruise is no object. heck its about 15 minutes of camera time. they arent burning time on 6speed checking the market. so sure, hold out.
at 50 over, its going to sell slow. if it were priced , at what i think is "the market" where reasonable, prudent buyers will match off with reasonable prudent sellers, then i think 30, 32, 35ish, giv or take a bit, is the market. at 80% higher premium than the current market, its gonna sit.
heck with this one sale, they can gain an entire years profits, and turn their dealership up two or three notches in performance. hence, they should hold out forever, and along the way, aggravate good cliets, burn longstanding relationships and destroy their credibility. no worries. an extra 10k will be justify their damaged good will.
me? i do it differently. i sell at a little below market, take small losses, but make it up in volume!<<GGG>>
