TO BUY CCW WHEELS OR NOT(tire spin)

hi guys please help,
i just ordered a set of ccw10's size 18x9 & 18/12.for my 07 gt3 i need a secound set for the track.stock tires i'm running the mpsc's.great tire.on further investagation into thease wheels ,i'm being told that some people are having a tire spinning problem.i.e. tire spinning on the rim.i've also been told mainley when useing toyo r888's.but anso i've been told hoosiers are also spinning.i wanted to get a set of bf goodridge r1's but are on back order with no releace date245/40zr18 and 335/30zr18.dito with the mich .sport cups 235/40/zr18 and 315/30zr18.MY QUESTION IS-are other wheel manufactures do they have the same problem's.should i cancell my order on the ccw's and get onother brand?i want to be able to get a set in full black.the stock 19'' rims for the rs are available but i want the weight savings.also the 18'' tires are about 500.00 less per set.or just get another set of 19's. also their seems to be an availbilty problem getting different tires that are not oem
thanks in advance
stuart

I'm no race engineer, but track use with any type of tire/rim combo is prone to spin. I've even seen this happen at autocross events.

Brandon is infamous around these parts
They have been making wheels for years with no problems. Give them a call and express your concerns to them.

thanks,
yes i have spoke to john i depth about this a very nice guy and admit's to me with no hesatation that this is happening.and he asked me when my next time at track would be,i told him i mid march at vir.so he went on to say ,well we have time to wait and see if the goodrich r1's or the mpsc come available by than.but i don't think just because i buy a certin wheel that it should dictate what tires i have to run.

Stuart - There are 4 of us running the CCWs on out 7GT3s. They all have had some spin ..with the toyos, cups, and hoosiers. But on the same days, other guys in 7GT3s running Fikse and BBS also had tires spin. One thing I noticed is I had less spin with black anodized ones versus just the silver ones. If you feel the finish around the bead, it's a bit rougher, so maybe that had something to do with it. Also make sure they mount the tires dry.

I have 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 11.5 CCW's with 245 and 305 RA-1's. I am very happy with the performance of this package and I am not having any spin issues. I am running this combo on my 997TT for track events

i have ran fikse, bbs motosport, ccw, jong bloed wheels with RA1 R888 mpsc. they all spin. but i dont feel ANY vibration, i must have been very lucky. i know the tire spun b/c i mark the rubber relative to the rim with tire markers to keep track.

try dry mount (no soap) that will reduce tire spin.

i have them and they were fine... some folks will spray hairspray on edge of rim right before mounting .. and use no soap stays wet enough to mount but does not make it slippery to spin tire..

as mooty said mark tire at valve stem
