Let me just add my .02.
The reason we took the project on in the first place was because we had a local client that said to us that it just was not loud enough for him. We developed a muffler and gave the car back only to have him call us saying it STILL was not loud enough. At that point our only solution was the straight pipes. The work was done and the customer was finally happy. VERY happy.
We said to ourselves that maybe more people would be interested so we began a small marketing campaign. We even invited Excellence Magazine to see our Engineering and Fabrication capabilities. They did a couple page layout on the process.
The word was spreading, then came VrAlex. Alex bought a set and said to keep an eye out for videos. I did not know Alex, but he was very enthusiastic CGT owner. He could not wait to get his and he kept saying over and over that we will sell a lot. I was skeptical.
Well, we all know what happened next.
Almost every set we have sold, the customer always mentions his videos. I have sent these to the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Frankly, it's shocked us how many we have sold!
The purists probably think we are the devil for doing what we did, but we had a customer with a need, so we fulfilled it.
Is the sound for everyone? No, but there are some that want race car sound for the street. I just ask that everyone keep an open mind. Different strokes for different folks, fellas. It would bum me out if this thread turned into one where someone gets bashed just because they want some additional noise.
That's it. Everyone have a great day.

we've sold or done handful of CGT straight pipes install from A.W.E. there's always a crazier crowd out there that want more noise. i decide to keep mine stock but the smile coming from the owners that got the pipes was priceless.
guess in LA a stock CGT is too common.

Mike (AWE) - do you make bypass pipes for the CGT?

Mine is stock and I would never go to straight pipes. I think it would get annoying to the driver as well and like someone else said, the car gets enough attention anyway.
I have, however, heard a CGT with an aftermarket exhaust on it. Wasn't straight pipes and I think it was from Tubi. It sounded really nice. May want to check that out.

PM me for more information if you like.

Stock. Most cars sound better with aftermarket exhausts. However, the straight pipes ruin the perfectly tuned sound of the CGT. Porsche did a lot of engineering to give that car the best sounding exhaust in the world.

Don't do it. The car sounds abnoxious with the straight pipes on idling, accelerating, under WOT and in just about every other scenario. If you want to **** other people off and look like an a-hole every time you take the car to an event then get them. They truly ruin the sound of the car IMO and do not add any performance gains.

I have the AWE straight pipes on my car in the youTube video I posted with the fly by. I do miss the high ptiched whine that the muffler produces and am wondering if I removed the cats and replaced the muffler - would I get a LOUDER high pitched whine versus simply the "LOUD" from the straight pipes?

i personally think it sounds great with the straight pipe. No matter where u drive this car, u are most likely going to attract attention anyways, come on u are driving a cgt for god sakes. I think it is just an excuess if anyone mention that.
I personally heard the CGT on the track and i think it is way to quiet compare to a F360cs or F430 fly by.
I personally think a CGT should sound louder than that.

What? I think I've lost some of my hearing as a result of the straight pipes!
My goal is not to terrorize pedestrians and scare little kids! The straight pipes are loud but manageable if driven with respect. Choose your moments and there's nothing better.
