CGT- Straight pipes or not

So what do all the CGT owners here say to straight pipes?
Yes or no?

What do all of the others that have heard a CGT with and without straight pipes say?

I really like the sound of my stock exhaust but will the pipes destroy that awesome sound and just make it loud and annoying?

Personally I would stick with stock. The straight pipes will not only change the volume level of the exhaust, they will also make the tone become less refined.

Short of actually hearing one in person.............does anyone have soundfiles of a CGT with aftermarket exhausts?

Go with straight pipes, BEST sound ever.

A video clip wont give it any justice. You really need to hear it in person, certainly a head turner!

I have the AWE straight pipes on my car so I can speak from first hand experience.

The stock pipes sound great giving the car that "high pitched" whine under hard acceleration which is very appealing to many (including myself). Unfortunately, that high pitched sexy sound only comes on at higher rpms.

The pipes make the car LOUD and obnoxious (which I also like) but it loses that high pitched whine. It's almost like the "tuning" went away. It's just loud and the whine is not as high pitched. But it sounds awesome in a different way.

You really have to hear both to make a final decision. Go to AWE's website and listen to the sound clips. I alos have some video clips of my car from last weekend doing some high speed fly bys. You can hear the exhaust clearly.

I've heard/driven both, go with the pipes, makes the car sound how it should.

You could always take them off if you did not like them. Any pictures of your CGT by chance?

I like the stock sound. You get too much attention already just from the car.

Not to hijack the thread, but what do you think the best sounding car in your stable?
