430 same price as CGT - WTF?!

I bough my CGT in US. Prices are dirt cheap there for anything... well, except from Ferrari. Looks like same thing we pay here in EU.

I couldnt stop noticing that 430 spiders went for around $330k. Similar condition CGTs were around $360k. So almost the same.

Question: WHO IN THIER RIGHT FREAKING MIND WILL BUY A 430 OVER A CGT???!!!!

Please explain!

Less dealer competitions, the higher the markup values go up. It's a real shame. Over here a F430 spyder will run you about $410k+

Some people would find that offensive. Especially w/ the current state of the economy, you're gonna make yourself some enemies on here bud.

To answer your question, well its a Ferrari; huge country, limited production numbers, lots of people whom can afford it but cant get their hands on them. hence the high prices.

F430 is easier to drive than a GT.

To sum up your question, I would take a brand new F430Scuderia over a 2nd hand CGT.

430 Spider msrp $250k...........market $310k or 430 Scuderia msrp $290k.............market $425k. Continuation of the entry level Ferraris. More variants of both down the line.

CGT msrp $448k...........market $400k. One of a kind. No replacements in the forseeable future.

Easy choice for me.

If a person is prepared to spend 300-400$ for a F430 .. chances are they already have a CGT.

given the number of CGT's and the number of F430's, I'd say the opposite.

An interesting point. But it's reality . . . the dollar is down what, 37%, since 2002? Those who get emotional over market realities (whether local or global) probably need to grow up. Blame it on the Fed not on Val. This is not an anti-patriotic post for those who attempt to read it that way.

Hey, im sorry maybe i missed something but i have no idea why my post might be offence to someone sorry about that.

CGT is a much more of a proper sports car rather then 430 with manual everything and harder to drive. Naturally that would put many people off. But lets just look at the facts:

1. CGT is in a different league. Technology, engineering, materials, speed, basically anything you name.
2. CGT is here to stay for some time. 430 will be "old model" in several years.
3. 430 is hideously over list, CGT is hideously below list.

So i really dont get this... Its like paying 30k for a miata when you can get a lotus for 20 YES many people will go for miata even then, BUT there is a good reason why miata is 20k and lotus is 40k.

and lotus (elise/exige anyway) would SUCK as a daily driver. MANY MANY folks would get the miata instead and you don't need to insult them by calling them crazy.

same goes for CGT. It is not nearly as versatile as the F430.

I'm not offended....our economy sucks...reasons are many...I'm guess here's where we can offend some folks....But we have a very long econ cycle before we are back on track.

Stuff is dirt cheap here. But it all goes in cycles....maybe if we get our **** together we can see where stuff is dirt cheap else where again in our lifetime.

I agree with this. It might be the language barrier, but it definitely read like a knock against the US.

You are right about Ferrari. The way Ferrari dealers like to do business is by artificially driving up the prices of the cars, and they justify it by intentionally making them harder to acquire.
You pay more for the name than you do for the car.

F430 is easier to drive than a GT.

Have you driven one? I always see comments on here about the CGT being hard to drive, yet that has never been my experience with mine.
