Toyo RA1 sizes for 996 GT3??

I'm hoping someone can help me out here... I just recently ordered a set of Toyo RA1's from Fabryce at GMG Racing.

The sizes: 245/40 (front) and 305/35 (rear) in 18 inch. Fabryce assured me that these would work just fine on my 996 GT3 without any ABS issues, however slightly taller gearing due to a nearly 1.5 inch taller rear wheel rolling diameter. He told me that they run this set up on their 996 GT3 cup cars and that he's run this on several 996 GT3 street cars, without any issues.

However, I did some research and after searching through the forums (6speed and rennlist), lots of 996 GT3 guys are having issues with ABS failure, and stability issues with these exact sizes and do NOT recommend running this set up. Apparently the 996 GT3 cup cars run a taller tire in the rear anyway and are calibrated differently so no stability, ABS issues.

Instead, a Toyo R888 in 255/35 (front) and 315/30 (rear) is more closer to stock rolling diameter and does not trigger any ABS faults.

Has anyone experienced running the 245/305 RA1 combo on their 996 GT3? I want to believe Fabryce at GMG Racing but he's telling me that it'll be fine, however forum members are telling me not to do it... would love to hear about more experiences, good or bad, before I slap these on and hit the track.

cup cars do not run 245/305.
the preferred size is 255/315 or
245/40/18
315/30/18

why dont you PM NJGT on rennlist. he has just about ran every size you can possibly imagine on 996gt3. probably more than any pro team!!!

No 315 in a RA1 though. 305 and 335.

Thanks for the advice mooty.

I read about your 255/35, 315/30 set up on rennlist... I know you ran those on the wider than stock CCW's, do you know if this size will work on the stock wheels as they are narrower?

Thanks again
