Welcome to 6speed and congrats on your new Porsche!

The 911 is simply unbelievable

It is everything I wanted the Ferrari to be:
Competent
Fast
Ergonomic
Hugely grin inducing
Not too flashy on the road.

The engine pulls like a freight train.
I’m having Sharkwerks do a bunch of mods done the week of the 25th
I'll post pictures after Alex is done.
So glad it came in what with the bad weather and all! I think we are all going to be really interested in what you have to say in terms of the comparison between the two. They are both great cars but for being able to drive everyday without a fuss I think the GT3 is perfect. It's such an easy car to drive and that engine... Well you said it. We've actually got another white one in this week for similair style surgery as yours will have.

Congrats. You made a right choice. I traded my 997 GT3 for a CS and missed it everyday. .

At the risk of starting a long thread off topic, my issues were:

too inappropriate to drive to work
too expensive to drive anywhere someone might scratch it
too uncomfortable and loud for a long trip

So the only thing I found it good for was the Sunday morning run up Skyline at 6 am once a month. I owned it 18 months and put 900 miles on it. It was too precious for me to enjoy.

Pitts- thanks for sharing your real world FCar experience. Not I can sleep better, be more productive at work, and save about $150K on my next dream car purchase

Congratulations on the GT3, I respect your switch as I find the GT3 to be more of a drivers car and some people drive in a daily basis and still take it to the track on week ends.

Why not share with us some pictures of your GT3, and enjoy it in good health!

Wow. That's a first. The F430 is absolutely my dream car. But if you can't just let go and drive it then I can see how it wouldn't be much fun. I test drove an F430 when I purchased my 997TT. I absolutely loved it - but not for $300 K. I will own a Ferrari some day. The Porsche is the right car for me right now though. I am glad you found the car for you.

Good luck!
