Toyo R888 and Pilot Sport Cup are quite equally fast on a dry track.

Toyo's are sticky when cold and also on wet while Pilot Sport Cups need to be heated and can be slippier on a wet track.

Toyo's are noisy though.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hey Stuart consider the Hoosier R6 tire. These are strictly track tires. They are not good for DD since they are essentially a slick.

Good luck with the set up.

Stuart - I'm running the R888 255/35/18-315/30/18 on CCW R-14's and works great, no rubbing. I originally tried a set of 245/40/18-305/35/18 R888s to keep the same rolling diameter as the stock 19", but like this setup better.

hey ryan,
i will be getting the ccw c10's i think 9'' front and 12'' rear.
the 255/35/18 and 315/30/18 ok thanks that should be the proven set-up as far as the toyo's go.

but the mpsc's they do not make a 255. they make a 265 and 315 will this front tire fit,and handle correct.

any problems with toyo's slipping on the rim. john at ccw also said they were also going to experiment with balancing the rim, and than balance the tire separtely, by putting a tire tube type of patch in the tire,so that if the tire does spin on the rim, that it will always be in balance.

I have had very little slipping with R888 dry mounted on on my black anodized ones vs some silver c-14 rims which slipped quite a bit. I think it may be because the finish on the anodized ones has a rougher to the touch finish causing the tire the grip better (but just a guess). The Toyos are a great tire...you won't be disappointed

Ryan, how much time did you gain going from 245/305's to 255/315's ?. I am trying to finish my second set of 245/315's, but these R888's wear like steel :-). Either way they will be finished 2 weekends from now when we go to Moroso, which can finish brand new tires in a weekend. I too use the CCW wheels and I keep on looking at the clearance up front with my current 245's and get nervous about 255's, but I guess because it is a shorter tire it will fit.
