I had a Manthey 996 and I enjoy the 997 alot better. To me its the whole package.
The seats are better, the motor is better ,the suspension is better, it looks alot better
and it just makes me feel better than the 996. And the longer I own it the better I feel about the decision.

I started out with a $10K 1980 SC in the 90s. I loved that car.

So, now I sold everything and bought an low mileage '04 GT3, put in the new leather sport seats harnesses and cage, increased engine power to 411, stripped car of anything not of use. 2800 lbs.

So now I own the best car I have ever owned. I Love it!

i dont give a hoot about the 411hp, BUT how did you get to 2800 lbs. how much fuel was in the car when you weighed it?

I like to know too about getting to 2800 lbs. My car weighs 3078 with 1/2 tank. Car has fabspeed muffler/cat bypass/dasport rollbar/euro gt3 seats/rs wing. Is it cosmetically ugly? Pics please : ). Mike

That's interesting. I actually think the MKII wing is too small, too pedestrian as some would say. And if and when i find my 3 an RS wing will be among the first mods i do!

Dang i need to find a 3...

Well done. I sold my 3 with all the same mods(except I changed gear ratios instead of r/p) and have missed it ever since. Been looking for another and either 6 or 7 version would work. Great fun to drive.

mike is a very very aggressive driver. i think most ppl will find 80/80 push too much.. but seems like mike is fine with it.

Can't remember whether I responded to the GT3 weight loss or power increase.

The car weighs about 2800 lbs with a half tank of gas. Put in the new lightweigt Porsche sport seats, full cage, stipped out carpeting, AC delete, everything unnecesary gone. Straight pipes. Loud around town.

Power boost - flashed chip, exhaust and some tweaks of the engine.

It is not a Manthey car.
