997 Gt3 Full Exhaust Systems

We stay away from Ti for good reason. Yes, it is very light, but due to it's nature, it's not ideal for high heat or harsh applications like you would find on a modern day car. Especially a Porsche.

Mike I always love your engineering approach to our problems but Ti is used ALOT in jet engines and that is very high temps. The afterburner cans on F18 motors are titanium. You would be amazed with what one person can lift or move when some of our older motors are sitting in the junk yard.
Absolutely, but the gauge and actual alloy will play a major roll. Like I said in my first post, even Porsche had trouble with the new GT2 system.
Not saying it can’t be done, just that there is a lot of experimentation that even the OEMs had trouble with.

Titanium
Some systems maintain steel headers with a titanium muffler. Titanium headers can crack from heat. It is more of a problem for the Turbo/GT2 than the GT3 as the turbo engines put off more heat. Titanium should be safe for the GT3 and the weight savings are crazy. The price is the problem..

Farnbacher is SOLID. Ever since I saw this video review of their systems, designs, and testing I have nothing but the utmost respect for that company.

AWE over Oakley..
I decided to go with AWE. I think it will be solid, even though it doesn't have the weight savings or high end power gains of Oakley's soon to be released system.
Why? AWE's is half the price- It gets good power in the midrange, sounds great, and looks great. It's not designed with track noise regulations in mind.
Still, Oakley's system will be insane. We'll see if I like AWE once I've actually installed it.

BTW, my previous insult was not aimed at you, but at the ricers with the fart can exhausts that constantly feel the "need" to impress me with their raspy auditory pollution whenever I encounter them on the highway. It is obvious that you are an enthusiast otherwise you wouldn't have bought the GT3 in the first place. I'll be watching for Oakley's system reviews also.
Good luck with your mods.

Just a weekly car get together. There are kind of new restraints on what gets into the parking lot. A cop stands at the entrance and tries to keep the crappy cars out. People just walk around, bull**** cars, eat some burgers, have a beer or two, look at cars, and enjoy the night. Every Wednesday starting around 6pm and going until dark.
If I see a GT3 pull in i'll be sure to say hi! Cheers!

A.w.e.
The A.W.E. system rocks. Solid power gains (no loss along curve). A real 12hp gain in the midrange. The stock system was insanely heavy and restrictive. With minimal resonance, A.W.E. managed to maintain the beautiful GT3 tone, and be 20% louder.
I'm pleased!
