CGT on Sunday in Crystal Cove (NB). Was it you?

Then it's not really a "race" then is it? And nobody really "wins." That's why you should take it with a grain of salt. Respect the car, not the driver. You "racing" a CGT is as novel as you "racing" a VW. How hard is it to floor a car and point it straight? The only limit that you wll be pushing is the speed limit, no real skills required other than a lead foot.

I give up!
Seems Robert will never get it. He still replies back with " I just love to race. I will race any car, any time so long as it is safe. Any takers? "
Now I can understand why I've run into many folks in SoCal who know you and have personally told me they no longer want you on their drives and try to stay away from you.
Nuff said and have fun looking for races!

The real debate is road racing on a track vs. drag racing in a straight line. Being that this is a GT2/GT3/GT subforum I can see why the crowd is swaying the way it is, and I agree with you in that sense; however, both take skill, neither is holding your foot on a pedal. If you line up a 996tt vs a CGT to run a straight 1/4 mile and the CGT driver has a bad start, misses 2nd or whatever and the 996tt takes the race, it doesnt mean the 996tt is a faster car, but bottom line he won, plain and simple. Same goes to any two vehicles. Drag racing takes skill and knowing your vehicle just like racing on a track does. If you line up on the expressway in the faster car and your in the wrong gear, not in your powerband, and the other car takes off on you, then your beat.

Robert,
I don't understand why it is so important for you to prove the point that you "killed" the CGT. Bottom line is I don't think anyone here really beleives you, and you really are just digging a larger hole for yourself.
I'd place you in the category of "legend in your own mind."

OK, find a straight smooth road in southern Cal where we can go 150+ legally and I'll race you in a CGT or Ruf Turbo R from a rolling start. I'll be happy to share in the rental expenses if any. Please PM details to limit exposure.

If you had posted this thread in the section above this one(996TT) things might have been different. People on in the GT section actually knows something about these cars and will have a hard time accepting your claims against the CGT.

I posted the video (unedited). Did you see the video? I could have took out some parts, but I do not edit videos. I play them as they are created.

Funny!
This thread is becoming .
The CGT is incomparable to the Turbo. I have a GT700 and it can beat a CGT, however not by much. The power-to-weight ratio in that car is fantastic.
Anyway, the point is, Nick didn't really 'race' you; at least according to that video. To do a real race, go to a highway with hardly any traffic and do at least 3 runs of ~40-150mph! That tests both torque & HP in the car and involves shifting. By the time you get to 150mph, my bet is that the CGT will be at least 4-5 carlengths ahead of you. Plus you have a Cabriolet! That is heavy and you don't have too many (power) mods.
And just a suggestion, the 3 honk rule generally is that each honk is at least ONE SECOND. Not 3 honks in 1 second! It sounded like you were telling him to 'watch out' or 'get outta the way'! LOLOL.
Anyway, it just looked like good 'ol fun..

You didn't drag race, you were both rolling at 50 miles an hour or more. Your 60 to 130 time is 10.2. That pretty much sums it up. A John Force reference to a rolling street race? Man, you're really reaching, I'm done.
