A few laps around the local track in a 997 GT3

The track manager was nice enough to attach his camera to the roof of my car for a few laps towards the end of the day. The YouTube version loses quite a bit of image quality so I've also included links to the files if you want to download them:

High quality QuickTime (124mb): http://www.fcracer.com/videos/dunnville-high.mov

Medium quality QuickTime (47mb): http://www.fcracer.com/videos/dunnville-low.mov

Nice video. Better times with each lap. The GT3 sounds good. Is that stock exhaust?

GT3Ranger, the exhaust is stock with the plug pulled (doesn't make a difference on the track since you are WOT most of the time)

Luiscarlos, the wheels are 18x9 front and 18x12 rear with 255/35R18 and 315/30R18 respectively. The overall diamater front and rear are both shorter which is why there is a bit of wheel-well gap which is not there with the OEM 19's.

awesome car!

Are you a track event junkie? or are you a beginner?

Its nice to see people who own GT3s actually taking their cars to the track. I was behind a GT3 this weekend at Poconos East and got to pass him - we were both in beginner green classes. Either way, the GT3 is a beast. Good luck w/it!

They are Toyo R888. The wheels are Complete Custom Wheels C14's painted satin black.

Pistol, it was my first event of the year so I was a bit rusty and I haven't raced competitively in years. The last time I set a record was back in 2002 (Knox Mountain Hillclimb) and the last major event I won was back in 2004 so I'm sure my skills are not up to par.

I feel the laps on the video are maximum DE speed laps. They were perhaps 90% of a true race pace. In order to achieve a true race pace, I'd have to be willing to run over the rocky track out patches as well as to run the Pagid Yellows to maximize braking.

Knox Mountain, did you live in BC, or come out for the fun?

Nice drive, keep going to the track it will help feed the addiction.
