Re-dyno'ed the GT3 after the GIAC software
Gentlemen I took the GT3 back to Champion Motorsport for a few things and an oil change. I've had the GIAC software installed for a month. The car has felt stronger since and feels like it pulls harder in the higher rpm's.
The GT3 has the FVD headers and race exhaust. I understand that most members do not think much of this product and do not even consider it in a discussion of exhaust components from various manufactures, ie. AWE, FabSpeed, Cargraghic, Quicksilver and GMG to name some. I truly recognize that all are good products.
Here is a video of the GT3 to get an impression of the exhaust note. I apologize for the limited video. I intend to create an additional video of the car with better drive by examples.

The GT3 has been dyno'ed several times in the past 8 months. The numbers vary only mildly which are normal for typical dyno variances. The peak gains after the FVD headers has fluxuated between 19 to 24 rwhp.
What has been extremely consistent are the mid-range gains, especially the torque. Between 3,500 to 5000 rpm's there is a range of 40 to 46 ft/lbs torque gain.
Here are the present dyno graphs:
1. green line represents stock results.
2. red line represents FVD headers in place.
3. blue line represents the addition of the GIAC software.

The gains yield a total of 392 rwhp. Imagine what my gains would have been had I used one of the popular exhaust systems and not this piece of **** set of pipes I have.
I believe myself and member mishref are the only two individuals on this forum to have acquired these headers.
The GT3 is a wicked demon!
Cheers, GT3Ranger

DYMAG CARBON MAGNESIUM WHEELS
The ultimate wheels. Super light. Super strong. Lightweight carbon barrel with forged magnesium center. Incredible reduction in unsprung weight and rotating mass equates to more power to the rear wheels (approx. 20HP on this vehicle!). Vehicle shown fitted with 19x10" front and 19x11" rear wheels.
and a pic of the wheels http://www.evosport.com/projects/Mer...rge_dymag4.jpg

I'm sorry but I disagree regarding the Dymag wheels. In Dec. last year the GT3 was dyno'ed having only the FVD headers and no GIAC software.
The car was dyno'ed first with the HRE 890R wheels and immediately dyno'ed again with the Dymag wheels. There was ZERO gain in rwhp.
Needless to say I was very disappointed. I too expected rwhp gains due to the light wheels but not to be. The Dymag rep was in presence at the time and he was also surprised.
The dyno pulls were repeated that same day and it was consistent, NO gains.
When I posted this everyone agreed that this was what they anticipated.
So on my car I could not prove rwhp gains from the Dymags.
BTW I was being facetious when commenting about FVD. Reason being that most around here do not even include the product when discussing exhaust systems. Anyway that's not important.

Lighter wheels will obviously show power gains while the car is accelerating at WOT on an inertia dyno, but cannot possibly show gains at sustained, steady-state rpm. That would be magic.

Hey Desmo the dyno graph is interesting. I'm not accustom seeing the graph results in mph on the X-axis, usually I am use to seeing rpm's.
Nice end results after the tune and mods. It would be interesting to re-dyno the clk 63 with another good quality set of wheels to compare. I still find it hard to comprehend a 20 rwhp gain from the Dymag wheels. Trust me I'd love to see such a gain for my GT3. Heck I would have been happy with a 5 rwhp gain. I'd get Dymags for all my cars.
BTW the clk 63 is a naturally aspirated motor right? Not to up to date with MB.
Repeat dyno with other wheels would be interesting, I think the car will make the same rwhp.
Cheers,

Wheels have nothing to do with engine output. Once momentum is built up in a spinning wheel, the dyno will read the same with a heavy or light wheel. Of course a light wheel will be able to get up to speed faster, hence, the perception of more power on the road. As Speedgeek said, if the dymags would give 20hp on the dyno, then I'd start believing in the supernatural/magic.

Luis mi amigo didn't you live in Arizona or am I having a brain-cramp?
Thank you on the complement, actually also to the others.
The GT3 accelerates, handles and brakes great with the Dymags but I could not demonstrate rwhp gains because of the wheels as has been described.
Back to back dyno'es with different wheels and the rwhp remaining the same proved this.
I still think the wheels are worth getting.
Cheers

I moved up to MN in Jan, it's just starting to warm up over here. Wish I was in FL!!!

Luis that must have been tough to move there in January no less. I took my first wife from Florida in January also to Philadelphia and I believe she never forgave me for it. Back in the days when I was a resident in training.
Good luck in Minn. So now you will be a Vikings fan, huh?
