Looking to buy new tires
Well it's about that time when I have to look into buying new tires. I currently have Michelin Cup tires and I'm looking at other brands of tire that will last me a little longer without losing much of the performance. What's the best and cheapest place to buy tires? Any help would be appreciated.

i believe ps2 cups have a UTQG of 80. the pzero corsas are 60. what if you put on ps2 (220).. i dont know if its legal to go with something greater then what the car came with? also, how will a 220 UTQG even perform since the car comes with either 80 or 60.

But when selecting a tire don't go by treadwear ratings. They give you a general idea of how long a tire will last but they're not a good gauge of how sticky they are. They're somewhat of a poor measure. Example: Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions have a 140 TW but so do RE-01R's, and BS RE-01R's wear out a lot faster and are a lot stickier. Michelin PS2's are comparable to the RE050A PP's, but they're rated at 220.
PS2's are absolutely fine for daily driving. They will last considerably longer than Cups and will ride more comfortably and generate less noise. Tons better wet grip, too.
Then again, you will definitely lose something on the track but if you don't track your cars regularly or you're not experienced enough to get the full traction out of even PS2's... who cares... why pay for tires every 5k miles when you can buy them every 10-15k.

Kev,
I'm currently running Toyo R888, UTQG 100, cost less, much better grip than Corsa & PScup!
