CF/FRP wing blade for GT3 installed
Hi there,
Wanted to share some pics of a new addition to the GT3, a carbon fibre/FRP wing blade. The intent of getting the wing was to improve the cosmetics, but the added benefit is that the CF/FRP blade is marginally lighter than stock (about 2 lbs).
I think the new blade looks great and the fit/finish is exactly what you'd expect on a Porsche. It was easy to install too; indeed, it uses all stock pieces and fasteners and was easier to screw into than the factory blade.
I've track tested it at three track days so far and even video-cam'd it to see if it flexes or anything. Seems to be the same as stock.
The blade was $750. Here are some pics, what do you guys think?

the concept of CF wing blades is aweome. looks good and lighter weight. but, why does the CF weave on that blade look so crooked? how hard is it to keep a straight line when building the blade? is it even full CF or is it a CF overlay?

The spoiler is CF layer with FPR construction. Sine all CF parts are hand made and is difficult to have it perfect in every weave. This 45 degree twill cloth show the imperfection wave more than pain cloth patten (AKA 997 int. CF patten).
