daily driver gt3
Can a 997 gt3 be a good daily driver? I am considering moving to a gt3 from my c2s I know it wont be the same car with just more power but can you live with it easily?

Depends what your definition of 'good' is.
Perfectly doable, the main differences you'll see vs your C2S are a firmer clutch, and a pitiful ground clearance at the front. Neither may be an issue depending on what your commutes look like.

I have been driving my GT3 almost daily since I have it. It is my primary transport mode and I love it!! This being said, if you sit in stop-and-go traffic for an hour, as it can happen here in Dubai, then your left leg can become a bit tired and clutch wear can be an issue. Mine has 33,000 km and Porsche scared me recently by saying they thought the clutch had worn out but, after dis-assembling it turned out to be in perfect condition.
If you think you can take it, go ahead. The GT3 can!

If you like sports cars, then it's fine as a DD. I drive mine every chance I can get. If you're softee, or have a passenger who complains about all but the smoothest roads, you may not like the bumps. That's the handling/feeling I want, so I drive it daily.
I just won't take in to NYC.

It's daily drivable, but there are times/places you may not want to take this car. It's nice having a 'regular' car, too.
I drive mine plenty, but not everyday/everywhere.

Search this forum and you'll find it's been discussed plenty. The answer depends on the person. For me, it's the best car I've ever owned and I use it as a DD (I've put 8k on it already since November). Now consdier that when I was in your position (i.e., asking folks on forums for advice) I was warned not to get the car if my intent was to use it as a DD and those folks couldn't have been more wrong -- for me. My only advice is test drive the car and then be honest w/ yourself about if it's right for you.

AHH! The daily driver comment. I love this topic. I took delivery of mine Jan 15 2007 and i have 30K miles on it (including track days). I didn't intend on it being my daily driver but i travel alot to San Diego from Orange County (a 90 mile drive on the 5) and it totally works for me. I have replaced my lip 4 times. If you are driving to the grocery store - NOT. I find it difficult to drive the GT3 from stoplight to stoplight because it wants to take off and run just about the time you've got to stop for the stoplight. I replaced the comfortable stock seats with the Porsche Recaro seats BUT there's no way i would ever drive this car with anything other.
I have been asked so many times by people "is this your daily driver?" or "this isn't your daily driver is it??" I simply smile and reply, "when I have to pick SUV or GT3 and I know I'm going on the road - it's a given. GT3 all the way baby! DUH!!
THE CAR gives me what I want - WHEN I want it and HOW i want it and lets me know that I'm making it happy especially at 5500 RPMs when it enters into ecstacy.

I have my 997 GT3 CS since Jan 08. Its a absolutely amazing car, so much fun to drive. By far the best car for the race track. There is no way I will ever sell it. However with the Clubsport seats its a bit of a pain to get in and out... but would never order it without them ! . Anyway it is nice to have an alternative car.... But guess this mainly depends where and how much you drive. Remember, the GT 3 comes with semis and they last only for abt 6.000 to 8.000 kms. You could change them to 'normal' tires but that would be a sin. Good luck
