New Road & Track comparison test: GT2 vs ACR vs LP560-4...
As long as there are cars like these, I'll be a happy person. Just thought I'd share in the hopes that we will all see even greater performance targets smashed in the future. Regardless of manufacturer.

If the first four are within 0.81 percent, I guess that the only conclusion is that they used the wrong criteria to sort these cars out.
The media hammering around the GT-R is getting a bit tiring, it's the car everyone loves to hate because it gives teens butterflies (to avoid more poetic metaphors), it's a clear underdog and we keep being forcefed with pointless comparisons. I've read a few articles about the impressive potential of the GT-R, but I am yet to read one that shares enthusiasm about the thrill to drive it. Slow, fast, I don't care, but something with a wee bit of passion for the thing.

The M3 times for one of the segments is compromised. If you look at the photos, the M3 hood is partially open in one of the pictures.

I thought the article was pretty good. 4 tracks and 3 Pro drivers means that the performance of each cars should even out and give you a good average. The ACR is just amazing track car. And I was surprised by GT2, I thought it would do better. But I guess the Rear Engine layout is showing its limitations.

Disappointed by the Exige. Impressed with the Gallardo (not really a Lambo fan) Still curious about the GT-R. Would love to have the budget for an R8 or DBS. Surprised a bit by the Z06. Afraid of the GT2. Not an Evo fan at all...

"It must be said that the ACR was the only car that arrived with its own crew chief, who optimized the suspension settings for each venue. But that's consistent with the ACR's role as a street-legal track car."
I like how they lumped the ACR in with the rest....and the car came with a team..wish the rest would have had that advantage!

That might be the most idiotic analysis ever. Letting the Dodge factory engineers and crew come with the ACR to tune for each track while the other manufacturers had no crew?
Then Millen says about the GT2, "If the suspension could be tuned like the GT3 RS's, it would be a rocket." Guess what genius, it is tunable JUST LIKE THE RS. There was no one to do the tuning though... The fact that a "pro driver" does 1:33.57 in a GT2 on Cup tires is a joke. There are guys doing better times than this in a Lotus Elise/Exige on private track days.
A pro can run a stock 996 GT2 in less than 1:30. So, I guess Millen is getting old.

Wait how is it inconsistent. this was a very well organized test. sure the Dodge came with a team but test itself let pro drivers (in their respective segment) pilot 10 cars and then ranked them based on lap times. It was also done in correct time attack format. as far as the Big willow times they are some of the fastest seen for stock cars. you can get a good idea of what HPDE cars are running by looking at the average spread/time on the speed ventures website.

(click event results and then take your pick of the Willow springs race events.)
I mean really if cars on R comps are barely hitting the time puled by Millen on stock tired cars, something can be said about the mans driving ability. you know i hear a lot of complaining and moaning from the Porsche guys. does it really sting that much that there are cars faster then the respective porches in a comparison. I think the burn is mostly coming from the GTR and the ACR. if we were to take those 2 cars out of this comparison everyone here would be hailing as to how great the P car did.
