in a straight line. Then 335 is already proving not to be the tuning monster everyone had hoped. THere are more then a few blown motors out there with very very light mods.

Do you have links/references on real stories or stats, or is it just hearsay ? Just curious about the rumour.

Hotrod guy I have been on the 335i boards since nov 06 and I havent heard of ONE blown 335i motor. Not that they havent happened I haven heard of anything.
I have been on the bimmerfest.com boards and the e90post.com for two years and have never heard of any blown motors. Not to say they didnt happen-I just have not seen a post or story of a blown motor that was modded

Congrats on the new car Paul. Keep it stock for now 
at least until break in is done
HotRod I have heard of only a handful and it was a quiet - "hey my motor blew".. I know of many that had over heating(some fixed with the cooler - some weren't).
I believe in longevity and I am not convinced that Proceeds/Xceeds/Whatever Ceeds - is really gonna last.
Maybe I could be wrong. But I get a kick out of every AA S/C Stage 2/3 that gets sold like right after they have been tuned and dynoed. I used to post that all the time. A new one would go on sale and I would say hmm..best car you have ever owned and very runs very strong but you had it two/four weeks after the install and you want to sell it for a loss? hmm..
