There's a thread on the Cayenne forum where NAV-TV says it should be retrofittable to the earlier models without too much work. However let's just say you don't care about it interfacing into the stock MOST bus. Why could't it be used as a stand alone unit for the nav, MP3, ipod, usb connectivity - isn't everything including the nav data self contained? Then use the audio or speaker outs to drive a separate amplifier.

Does it even physically fit without major alteration or an expensive panel replacement?

I think the $7500 might just be some wild *** guess quoted by a dealer. Last I checked, the unit is so new, there is no price set on them yet that the parts department could find as they're not in the system. If a replacement is needed, Porsche just does a warranty swap.

steve,

yes, i hoping it is as well. but checkout the prices from the past. pcm2.1 is roughtly $4k. it wouldnt surprise me if porsche does set the price of the pcm3.0 to the $7500 range. i'll call my parts guy today to see the final price.
