Can 996 GT3 Engine Be Modded to 997 GT3 Power Levels ??

I don't know if the 996 and 997 GT3 engines are similar, or not. But I was wondering if it's feasibly possible to get MORE power from the 996 GT3 motor?

(Feasibly, being the operative word.)

Thanks

Yes you can use the Manthey-de 410 kit. It includles the ECU headers and catylitic converters reheaded, ALL that gets you around 410 hp or more.
Manthy-de.com is their webstie
Mine was preinstalled before I got the car.

Headers, high flow cats, mufflers, filter and ECU tuning and you are there. I did to my old car and it did 372 rwhp on a mustang dyno.

It might be a bad link or wrong web address, but I can't get to that page. I tried to google it and can't find it that way either. Can you check that for me?
Thanks.

You're right. You're fun to dice with, but I can't keep up with you now that you're on slicks.

BTW, I did that search on Manthey and no luck. Is that the correct spelling?

EVOMSit Software for 996GT3

With the new EVOMSit software you can get about 20 more hp at 6500 RPMS and average of about 15 more hp/tq throughout to the wheels Check out the dyno...

I find the 996 GT3 with eurorpipe, LW fly/clutch, more than fun on the track. 372 rwhp. Can't see the need for more on the street.

George, I think what you need to do you just do it. You can easily add about 40HP/40TQ with the right exhaust, cats, and ECU. Some may even do custom tune rather than software update. Best of luck, I would do any mods in a heart beat. Just the feel of the car going head to head with a 997 GT3 would be awesome. Not to mention pulling from a stock 996 GT3.

My understanding is the 996 & 997 GT3 engines are very similar, both use the GT1 block. However, stock vs stock, the 997 has a much louder & better sounding exhaust. So I am guessing it is less restrictive? So be sure to keep that in mind when you drive a stock 996. Anyways, we all know exhaust can be upgraded easily. The rest of the mods I don't know anything about since my 996 is 100% stock garage queen
