My RS VS M6
#17
Now you want to swallow all the "mag rags" write ups and you want to "mag race", well I can not say much.
I come from the real world experience. I am sorry but there's no way a GT3/RS will beat an M5/M6 in a rolling start or from the dig.
Regarding trap speeds you need to come to So. Florida. In late Oct. our local track will re-open after renovations and we plan a private track rental. We will video and will send you real world results.
My car before mods was trapping 118 to 121 mph with times of 12.2 to 12.0 sec.
Now sir anyday you'd like to run a GT3/RS against an M6 (or the porker M5) I'm down with that.
My modded 997 GT3 (392 rwhp) does not have a prayer against an M5/M6 and I mean stock.
Regardless, nothing will get resolved. We disagree and we each believe we are right. I am relating to real world and your appear to be quoting mags.
You have to give me more real proofs of kills.
You know, enough said sir.
Cheers,
Ranger

heres a video of a 997tt embarassing an m6
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmIkQnTzwec
theres no way an m6 or m5 is trapping 121 because if it were, it wouldnt get beat so bad in a roll on situation.
youe m5 makes about 700 right?-and you only run 11.6@125. there are stage 2 996tts that trap almost that.
can you explain why from 0-186 the 997 GT3 is almost 4 whole second faster than an m6?
...unless you can provide video proof more than the video posted in the first post, the m6 got pulled on by the RS, plain and simple.

Ranger, why are you taking this so seriously? Sounds like both of your cars are modified, so your perception is definitely going to be skewed. I really doubt the OP would go to the trouble of posting the video if it wasn't real, that would make no sense.

Ranger did you run at Moroso? We ran friends M5 before he got rid of it, we couldn't get it to trap higher then 116, think his M6 trapped 116 or 117 last time he was there. Consider ourselves good drivers as I ran an 11.9 at 120 at Moroso in an 01' ACR Viper when it was stock. 1/4 mile is tough test though for the Ms as the motor wakes up around those speeds, would explain why trap times and speed are similar to the AMGs yet once after that the Ms pull away.
If it matters his M5 was 6 speed manual, but the M6 is SMG. Though have to say having driven an 997 GT3 I can't see it pulling on a stock M like that (both being stock)...hard to go by test numbers printed as well since too many variables if not tested same day.

I doubted the video and was told to relax that it was not for real.
To the others I say, anytime you want to run a GT3 against an M5/M6 and do 0 to 190 just say so and bring big $$$. You are swallowing the mag crap.
PorscheC4 you bring in the 996 TT and 997 TT but the discussion was the GT3/RS. No problem because a 996 stage II will be handled by the my M5. You saw the video with the 997TT.
There is no way in hell a GT3 will outrun an M6.

i ran my friend's M5 from a low speed roll and it wasn't even close.
honestly we were both shocked. i thought he would beat me or at least we'd be evenly matched.
ok, to be fair, his M5 was on the power setting, but not in the most aggressive shift program (S6 was it?). and we got out of the gas at maybe around 130-140ish, so perhaps the M5 didn't get into its stride.
even then, i didn't expect the GT3 to do so well.
not saying my single experience is the final word... i'm sure other people have had other experiences... but still, it was surprising!
i've got a video, will post up soon

Stock for Stock:
M6 vs Z06:

Basically, 500hp Z06 @ 3200lbs vs 500hp M6 @ 4000lbs. You do the math.
