Buying a GT3 or GT3RS
Drove a GT3RS today and absolutley loved the car. Need some advice now.
What are main differences between RS and GT3? I was offered $146k from my dealer for a clean black 07 GT3 RS with 6k miles, is that reasonable? Originally listed for $170k but with the economy that still may be high.
Also, what should I expect go pay for a white 07 GT3 with 5k miles?

main differences RS vs GT3
1. LWFW (light weight flywheel)
2. wider rear fenders (44mm per side), rear wheels offset more aggressive, with side skirts
3. RS tail and lip extension
4. no sunroof
5. yellow stripe on steering wheel
GT3 ~ $110k, RS ~ $150k

This was discussed a bunch over at RL, but the RS is a gorgeous car. i have one that has the alcantara with a stripe steering wheel, and one with thicker leather. frankly, i like the alcantara wheel better. more grip. less posh. more raw.
when talking RS's its about MSRP (sticker price) and th epremium or discount to that price. if you say "originally listed" , you're referring to what the dealer in his dreamland fantasy world listed it for at 170. i think my green is the 2007 highest msrp at 165ish and ther eis an 08 about 500 bucks higher out there. no reaosn to guess, yo ugotta ask him for the msrp. then, my guess would be that 4k miles gets you the car AT STICKER or a bit under.
there are a few out there right near sticker, and one great black/orange BELOW sticker. that one is near me in NJ.NY area. gorgeous car, motivated seller.
i would sit tight. they are coming downin value. winter is coming, cars on east coast wont get driven as much so miles will not increase and first sign of cold weather and buyers putting on ski jackets, prices will come down further.
or buy it, enjoy it and rock on!

Thanks for the information. What is msrp of a bone stock GT3RS including delivery, paint, etc.? Was anyone able to purchase these new at msrp? Ideally I would like to order a new 09 if possible for msrp? Given the economy, I imagine these are especially tough cars too sell.
If anyone knows of specific cars available for sale at reasonable prices, please let me know. The prices online from dealerships are absurd, probably $30k higher than what they are worth. Given the winter and economy, I have to believe these will be closer to $130k soon.

a lot of people who buy them are not always worried about the economy lots of folks pay cash for them
I don't think they will be at 130k next week there isn't a 09 model late 2010
Better get on list soon a bunch have been spoken for already ..... I know I put deposit down for gt3 already

Are you considering GT3's and RS's ? If you do a little searching, you can get a low mile RS for 140-150ish. GT3 105-120 ish depending on condition and miles.
There's a very clean car in a rare color( Cobalt blue) with minimal options ( a plus in my book) and no unsightly chrono pod on the dash, asking 109K. No affiliation with owner. It's listed over at Rennlist.com also on auto trader.
Good Luck

Better take a close look at the service records of the car you test drove before pulling the trigger...its had major motor work already. That combined with the miles and its not quite the deal it may appear to be.

Besides the cylinder head replacement and the Fabspeed exhaust.....what else can you add? PM if you like...thanks.

Might as well go ahead and pull the trigger on a sure thing while the prices are dropping and you can still find one with low mileage. Who really knows if there is even going to be a new RS and if so the mark up is likely to be insane. The 997 RS's will always be one of the best ever made and getting more rare everyday.
