The New GT3 Comes Out in July 09

im an RS lover as much as anyone, but lets not discount the possibility that the car doesn't come out at all.
These are incredibly difficult times right now in the economy. Porsche's stock has reflected their recent sales, falling off the shelf.
Buyers who maybe were reaching up for a C4S or a 911 lease arent doing it. IN my neck of the woods, a buddy at a well established pcar shop, was the head of sales. He left. he said they dids osmething like 66 cars last year last sept, and like 11 this sept, of which 4 were cars from previous months not picked up.
i guess my point is...it all sounds good, but these are new times economically for the entire planet. if things were to continue the way they are now, it would not surprise me to see a host of potential things occur, including their cancelling plans on certain highline, high overhead, low volume cars....all thew ay to the potential of their getting bought out or sold.
these are wierd times. do i think it will happen? i hope the heck not. but noone shoudl discount that. and , definately, 150%, be super careful about leaving deposits at dealerships, even the finest. that chevy dealership was the largest in the country; i think i read they did 3.4 billion in sales, 1500 employees. they went bankrupt and i believe i read they were sittin on millions of customer deposits not in any segregated accounts.
dudes, these are the times in which we find ourselves for the moment. porsche cant go ahead and say those things, but you'd be crazy to think highend executive meetings arent taking place discussing the ways to save money and keep the company going.
just some food for thought...didnt mean to be a buzz kill.
I love PORSCHE!

anyone got any picks??
i havent seen any
only of a 997.2gt3
i hope they do a good job with it, especially with the whole nissan "problem"
their rep is at stake... and if porshe focuses on boxers, and the panamera, there could be trouble ahead...

I'm concerned about Poroches changing focus from sports cars to SUVs and 4 door cars. From a business perspective they would crazy not to monitize thier reputation of quality and performance by expanding into the bigger markets of suvs and luxury cars. The hard core 911 type will suffer IMHO. This means less focus on a car that's almost perfect now and entering into the new markets they are obviously targeting. The GT cars will get less focus and become very low numbers, again in IMHO. Also I hear of wet sump engines coming back and I see it as a major manufacturing cost cutting measure. I don't care about the hp numbers as much as the heritage. I think the 997 may be one of the last great generation of 911s. I hope I'm wrong!
