Great write up - very inspirational to have tackled the job your self. You have to feel a great deal of satisfaction of doing the work yourself. I have sat in the GT2 seats and they felt great. Thanks

Thanks guys. Glad you like how it turn out
Yes, it is very satisfying doing the mods yourself. It would cost me less time and money to pay someone else to do the work but I will have no appreciation of what was involved. DIY is a great tool to get to know your car
The passenger seat weigh 2 lbs more due to occupant sensor and hardware as GTS-R have mentioned. The GT2 seat is the same height on the driver side compare with OEM seat at it's lowest ride height. The passenger GT2 seat is slightly higher due to occupant sensor hardware. I would estimate the driver side is higher by about 1". This is true with OEM passenger seat too

I am thinking of same set up. Do the stock belts stay in same location for use on the street?
I would also have the GMG bar.
What about seatbelt warning lights and beeps are they disabled so when using 6 pt you do not have beeping and lights.
Thank you.

Alternatively you can get a separate belt buckle for the receiver when you are using 6 points harness to avoid the seat belt warning light.
Hope that help clarify things

The lower seat hight in the OEM GT3 seat is what I liked tremendously as a 6'2" guy in comparison to my sport seat hight in the 996 C2, now I know that the GT2 seat will be a viable option for my new RS. Thanks for the clarification!
