GT3 RS or 997.2 GT3?

Yes, last 3.6L GT1 block.
Now the .2 comes with a 3.8L GT1 block and with higher RPM up to 8500rpm.
And the new 997.2 RS is coming out soon.

You sure about that? I was told it was the "integrated dry sump" like the normal 911, not the GT1 block. Porsche seems to be keeping the exact details quiet, I can't determine which engine type it is from their press releases or website. If it's the true GT1 dry sump engine then I would have no problem buying one.

Twice that of a 997.1 GT3, not the RS. I would say the new GT3 is closer to downforce of RS than the prior GT3.

I'M just wondering how? The new wing on the .2 GT3 looks much smaller than the wing on the .1 RS.

That's what I was saying, Porsche claims the new 997.2 GT3 has 2x more downforce than 997.1 GT3, not the 997.1 GT3 RS. And that given 997.2 GT3 has a similar, albeit smaller, version of the RS wing, I would suspect it's closer to the RS in downforce, but not quite the same (slightly less and might not be adjustable). RS has more rear downforce for sure. Although, I suspect the new GT3 has the same frontal downforce as RS, due to revised front air dam/splitter.

The 997.1 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 RS has identical frontal area except for a very small additional plastic piece on the center area of the lower lip for the RS. I doubt that this will make much of a difference in the downforce between the current GT3 and GT3 RS.

The gt3RS.2 has not been confirmed nor have there been any spy shots to date... It is the gt3.2 that has twice the downforce of the gt3.1. There hasn't been any comparison between the downforce of the gt3 and RS (in the mkI) to my knowledge so it is only speculation that the gt3.2 would be similar to the RS.1...

I rememeber the same question on the 996 Gt3 RS vs the 997 Gt3.
It seems for years and years the next model Porsche always out performs the previous generation. Go the 997.2 as much as the 997 Gt3 RS looks and preforms great - it too will date and be beaten.

Read the Porsche press release on new .2 GT3. They claim downforce is twice that of prior GT3.
"The new GT3 offers even better grip and stability also at high speeds, specific modifications of the car’s aerodynamics increasing down-forces both front and rear to such an extent that the overall pressure pushing down the car is more than twice as great as on the former model." - Official Porsche press release
Again, it's GT3 to GT3, not RS. It was someone else on this thread that made the claim over RS, not me. Read my posts again. Thx.

What's this all about?:
PADM (Porsche Active Drivetrain Mount) engine bearings. These special engine mounts recognise a particularly sporting, race-like style of driving, making the normally elastic engine suspension hard and particularly resistant. This retains all the motoring comfort of the GT3 in everyday traffic, while on the race track the car is not affected by any mass forces coming from the engine, as would otherwise be the case in fast bends and on winding tracks.
