Trollinger is infamous around these parts
I have heard the seats do not move all the way back with the factory bar. Is that the case?

The OEM rollbars I had in my 997.1 GT3 was intolerable. Creaked like an SOB. I hated it. IMHO the design is not optimal. Sorry.

Thanks Ranger. This is almost as bad as a PCCB discussion. People either love the OEM or hate them. I think I will by a GMG as recommended by 2 of the best local shops.

I personally love the OEM cage.

I'm mounting the front OEM part of the cage in my GT3 clubsport, and it looks like a cup car...simply love it! Of course, in case of massiv accident, i'll be happy not to be killed by my roof....

I agree, there are plenty of opinions on the OEM bar. The GT3 RS Clubsport bar we installed in April 2009 has travelled about 6,000 miles since the install with 10+ track days and has performed problem free and remains totally quiet. The seating position is comfortable for a 6'1" driver. I tried to price a Clubsport bar recently and was told PCNA is no longer importing them.

Man you guys sure know how to make a decision difficult. You can buy the club sport bar from FVD at what seems to be a fair price. I like the aspect of OEM, I am keeping the car for a long time and this could have value down the road. It sounds like you cannot put the seat all the way back, but I never do anyway so for me that will not be a problem.
Decisions, decisions.

Although the OEM Porsche bar is not the least expensive alternative, I chose it because I have a preference for Porsche engineered parts (the Clubsport bar mounts to the tub/floor not to the seat belt mounting bolts), you know they will fit and they were properly engineered. Most of the aftermarket bars are also excellent. If you are in the market I have a set of 997 GT3 Euro Clubsport CF seats and the tub mounting plates for the OEM bar.
