Interesting...How do they test for the 18hp increase. Can't dyno, need to be moving, so how are they able to make that claim ?

Hi Chris,
Good question, the test was done in a wind tunnel in Germany where they recreated 100MPH+winds.

Never thought about that. A dyno in a wind tunnel...great idea ! If you get a chance, pics of the kit with fastening hardware would be of interest. Thanks Evan.

Hi Evan,

Thanks for posting the pictures. Do you have to drill any holes in the deck lid? Has anyone at FVD tested this on the track yet?

From the looks of it, you need to drill 3 holes in the decklid yes. We have not installed any of these kits in the US as we just recieved them last week!! They have been installed in Germany, though I have not heard of any track experiences...

Evan,

I'd definitely be interested, except if I have to drill holes in the decklid. Can you find out for sure whether drilling is required?

As an alternative to drilling, what about some type of adhesive? The factory aerokit rear spoiler for the TT has a similarly positioned piece that attaches with an adhesive backing that comes on the piece.

Love the look of the FVD piece.

Do you guys run a K&N filter with it?

It is not 100% necessary to drill, you could choose to do it a different way, however it will lose the TUV approval if you do not drill. You can install it anyway you want however, it is reccomended to drill. We run BMC filters.

So bring your GT3 over and we will install it on your car so you can see it . J/K man. The part is aftermarket, but has a TUV approval so it is good quality. No one local has them installed as they were just released about 2 weeks ago.

Evan,

So, the price is $295? What sort of package deal would you make with the BMC filter?

I will PM you with a price next time I am infront of my computer (out right now). I believe we are sold out though so it would be 1-2 weeks before I see another ram air kit.
