i am thinking about getting tire blankets to warm the tires before events. The cup tires really need a few good laps to come up to temp and I am going to try to shortcut it.

 

About a year ago I spoke to a 996TT owner that was very serious about autocross.

If I recall correctly he had made his own tire warmers.

In regards to tire warmers, they are very common for sportbikes. I used to see them on nearly all racebikes at Willow Springs for the Formula Xtreme races. I'm certain that the companies that manufacture those most likely offer them for autos as well. It's amazing how many manufacturers there are for tire-warmers on sportbikes. I forget the manufacturer names, but try a search....
