GT3 Price check

Recently started to look into acquiring a 7Gt3. Saw one at a bay area dealer, 07, 3k miles, Blk/Blk, minimum option, interior and exterior all looks like new condition. The PS Cups are about less than 50% left, so dealer said they are planning to put in new PS Cups. This will have CPO. Dealer is asking 95k for this. Based on browsing around Craigslist and Autotrader, it looks like a more reasonable price will be around 90k ish. Just wanted to know if this is a reasonable offer to make. Also debating on whether to just go for the 2010, which they have a Blk/Blk in the showroom that apparently someone cancelled. PCCB, Sport Bucket Seats, Full leather, and a few more options, but no PCM. MSRP is 130k.

They are offering 45k for my 06 C2S cab with 30k miles for trade in, still under factory warranty and has CPO. It has had its annual service today and they found no issues at all, except they feel the tires need to be replaced if they are going to put it on their lot. The tires look like they have about 50-60% left. I do not need to sell the C2S to get the GT3, so another option is just to try and sell this myself. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

That is interesting, I haven't considered ordering my own car as I felt it might be easier to get a discount on the ones in the showroom as they have more pressure getting rid of it. Dealer's asking price is MSRP, and based on what I saw on the other thread, there is a possibility of getting 2-4% discount? on the inventory vehicles. It's been there 2 weeks.

Meteor Grey is one of my favorite color... gl with your purchase.

My dealer is more interested in offering me a discount on a ordered car. Not on the showroom.

I am getting better trade in ACV's for my car as a trade in on a new GT3

There is a white PCCB car on Rennlist with 11K miles for just under 85K

You can PP your car for 55K if you don't mind going through the trouble for the extra 10K.

I would say 90K tops on the Black used 997.1 probably 87K with CPO is market today.

55k is what I felt should be the right number with some patience. It's still under full factory warranty in addition with the CPO should make buyers more comfortable. For the Blk Blk 997.1, just wondering how you derived the 87k number but that sounds reasonable.

Just curious if anyone know what the trade in values are like for the 07s. Not implying that I could get close to that number, but just to know their cost. Thanks.

I know of a nice 07 GT3 GT SIlver a guy on RL just bought for 82K from a dealer.

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...nashua-nh.html

I think the dealers are at approx 75K on a 997.1 GT3 trade in assuming 10,000 miles or less.

I just sold my 2006 997S for 60K maybe a little low actually. The guy contacted me within an hour of posting it on RL. It was posted here in the for sale area as well.

I am in the GT3 hunt club too but have a Nov build allocation and am 95% sure I will take it.

Thanks for the link, that is a good reference. I do believe that to some extent car market is more local/regional, and therefore there are discrepancies on the price level at different market, although probably not too significant. I think 82k is a great deal, so your 87k is very reasonable for the lower mileage and also the bay area. I will wait a few days and see if they come back to me.

Best of luck on your GT3 hunt as well.

I was offered a new 2009 C2S for $20,000 off MSRP. Most dealers are much more aggressive right now and Porsche is actually giving money back on certain cars and has special financing available through the end of September. The car you are considering was probably purchased by the dealer for under wholesale, somewhere between $75,000 to $80,000 You might be better off to buy a new low optioned GT3 ($112,000) versus a 2007 for $95,000. A CPO car with low mileage is worth a little more but remember it will be 3 years old soon. Every time I've asked my dealer what my 08 RS is worth they always say how bad the market is, one quote was about the same as the car you are looking at. I know if I sell them my car for $95,000 it would be on their lot for at least $115,000. Good luck with your search, but be patient and the right car will come along for the right price. In the mean time sell your car, you will have more leverage without a trade.

Thanks for the comments and I like how you compared the 2010 low option car vs. 07, the price difference doesn't justify the purchase. Is that 95k just a hyperthetical number? I can't believe they will only give you 95k for a RS, seems like market price is still around 125-130k ish? perhaps I just haven't looked around too much. I might end up buying the 3 first then trying to sell my cab if the trade didnt work out. Have enough garage space to keep them all for the time being...

The GM and I are neighbors... we are about 10 min walk away. Perhaps I need to start bugging him everyday from now.

A C2S is less desirable, and thus more likely to be discounted than a new GT3. In the mid-atlantic region, Porsche dealers are giving $75-80K for GT3.1 cars with good options less than 5-10K miles. Personally, I would buy a 996 GT3 with low miles, if you can find one.

I'd say it's fair to compare a 2007 @ $88k-$92k or so to a similarly equipped 2010 @ $117k-$119k. Yes, the '10's went up $5k or so, but Xenons are now standard. Yes, a guy on RL got one @$84k but it is a low option car and is not the norm from what I have seen. Just be sure to compare cars with similar treatments like full leather or the lack thereof. I believe it's fair to say that $25k-$30K is the real difference with an apples to apples comparison. $30K is not enough for me to go 3 years older, considering all of the '10's improvements. The wheels and brakes alone are worth a bunch to me and there is a bunch more. Three years equates to another $15-$18k.
