It would be a tough call (Almost a coin toss) but at the end of the day, I would go with the 997.2 GT3,

RS all the way. The way I see it is there'll always be something newer, faster, etc. But the "new" factor fades out quick. The RS will always be an RS. I mean look at the classic 911 2.7 RS, the truth is it's old & outdated, but it will still make most Porsche enthusiasts jizz quicker than a nerdy virgin getting it on with Adriana Lima. If you're really itching for the newer/better performance, you can always modify the .1RS & make it even leaps ahead of where Porsche is with the .2 RS. Sharkwerks is doing 3.8+ conversions already & as far as handling, there's so many options out there like JRZ, Moton, etc.

This is just my opinion of course. Whatever you choose, you're still a pretty lucky guy & I bet many of us would like to be making this "tough decision" as well, lol. Good luck.

I am not too sure of that... for the money of a second hand RS, the money spent throwing a sharkwerks engine upgrade/ECU for a 3.9, some REAL seats and a set of Moton Clubsports, a set of track dedicated wheels with proper slicks will errrr pretty much eclipse the new RS in my opinion... and there will still be change possibly (well here in Singapore at least)... so my vote is for the second hand RS hands down...

the old RS done right will eclipse the new RS for less money for sure as would it eclipse the new GT3...

It just looks simply amazing.

I like the .2 GT3 better than the .1 RS on the street. Something about how they changed the roll center on the 2010's makes it feel even more responsive and at the same time a bit more relaxing, less "brittle" feeling on the street than the .1 RS. But hey we're just comparing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, they are both terrific cars.

I am usually different. I would try and find a low mileage 996 GT3. Nice and raw, like 911s used to be.

agree with your logic, but since when do we buy our toys using logic?

the new RS is more desirable for me, and I vote with my money.

I'm sure there will be upgrades available for .2RS in a few years time and will make it much better than the .1RS, but that's another story.

ans yes, from everything I've seen / heard / read , no one is getting out alive. thought of that saying a couple days ago, as a matter of fact

do what makes you happy, I know alot of ferrari's that sit in garages, and alot that hit the streets. buy a RS if you like even if you don't track it... this is a sell based on heart, only way to go with these crazy expensive toys

+1 I agree with you, I had my c2s parked next to a red .2 gt3 and it just makes the .1 look boring. Of course I don't have an .1 gt3 or an RS for a better side by side comparison, but I just absolutely love the looks of the .2 gt3.

The Panamera commerical came on as I always posting this hahaha it gave me goose bumps!

Cant argue with you on that.... if I had the money, I would have the GT3RS.2 in grey WITH THE RED script in my garage in a heart beat..... but as I dont, I will have to make do with my RS.1...
