We have been working with Pirelli for sometime now and we are pleased to get you a pre SEMA sneak peek at the new P Zero Trofeo R Compound sport tire. These tires have been developed for Porsche and there unique handling charecteristics.

This will be a dual purpose R Compound tire in the category of the Michelin Sport Cup, Hoosier and ToyoR888.

Tires will be available through GMG staring in December.

wow looks clean. Very nice treads, similar to the MPSC though.

How does it compare? also, how's the price on these bad boys?

 

Will this tire replace the Corsa System.
Dual purpose meaning street and DE ?
Looking forward to putting them on my car.

 

The tread looks good, I recently switched away from the MPSC and R888s in favor of the Bridgetsone RE-11, huge cost savings and honestly havent noticed a difference on the track and they perform better than either in the wet.

Interesting to see how these stack up and at what price point.

 

How can these be faster than R888, with all that tread???

R888 look like a slick compared to these.

 

+1 on the Bridgestone RE11's. I am sure the new Pirelli's will not be cheap. Good looking tire though, and the R compound will make them really fun.

 

Are the Bridgestone RE-11's really as sticky as an R compound?

 

No they are not. They are in the same category as the Kumho XS, Toyo R1R, Dunlop Direzza Z1 and Yoko AD-08.

On DOT-Race compound you have the Pirelli Corsa (both the System and standard), these new Trofeo, Michelin Sport Cups, Toyo R888, Yoko A032 and A048, Dunlop SSR.

There are a few DOT-Race compound tires not really suitable for street use (due to their almost slick construction): Kumho V710, Hoosier A6/R6, BFG R1 and Avon.

I hope Pirelli upped the game with the Trofeo, because the Corsa system stink in dry conditions.

 

Tread wear rating is???

Will they get a Porsche blessing ("N" rating)??

I've run the Pirelli Corsa's since May '07 on my 997 GT3 and GT3RS and they are superior on dry and wet conditions over the MPSC's.
As a DD they are even greatly superior. The Corsa's come up to temp much faster that the MPSC's.
Sorry only my opinion.

Data sheet does not show an "N" designation but it is early times.

i hv used both both the PS CUP n CORSA, like the Corsa better..more controllable.
Now looking fwd to trying out this Trofeo..

You are dead wrong here, the Corsa system is superior to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup... and to think I once made the Dealer take the Corsa of my car and put on Michelins.. the stuff of legends and stupid bias.

The Corsa is the Superior tire on the MB Black series and the RS based upon my experiences.

 

What will the wet weather performance be like? As friendly as the Corsa's or less forgiving like the MPSC?

 

I agree. And honestly, I find it hard to believe these will outperform an R888. Especially given that tread. Those may be better than Corsas, which is IMO, not as good as MPSC. I have used MPSCs and Corsas and the R888, IMO, is way better in dry. R888 never gets greasy and have a very predictable "break" in traction. And overall grip is higher. I have not tried the Bridgestones. Although, I don't really want experiment unless I know they will better than R888.

Will GMG be running these for the Speed GT series?
