996 GT3 slicks width question - how wide can i go

well im almost done building my GT3 track car project and am about to order up some tires for it.
ive got cup wheels for the car, the standard 18" x 9J/11J BBS E88 type in cup offset and looking at the cup car spec see that the recommended tire for these are michelin 24/64-18 and 27/68-18 accordingly.
now these spec out to 254mm and 317mm overall width.
does anyone run these on their cars without problems or am i going to need to come down in width here.

the whole point of building this was so that i could have a car i could drive to events and the track, or just get out in early in the morning when time was tight. my previous cup car just ended up a dust collector as getting the trailer out just never happened.

anyone got any experience or advice on where i should be looking at for a road tire for these wheels also.
should i be looking at 245 or 250 at the front and 305 or 315 on the rear with corresponding height adjustments to keep circumference close to oem spec.
can the car take these sort of widths on those cup wheels or am i just going to be chunking them on the lip of the fenders. ive got quite alot of negative camber on there and the beater wheels on the car just now with 235 and 295 seem like they could come up quite a bit in width just by feeling the gap present.

as always deferring to those with direct experience saves having to follow the same learning curve and pain. if you have any thoughts id love to hear them.

I would run a 245 front and a 305 rear.

If you run a Toyo R888 305 rear it will bulge on a 11" wheel. As it is designed for a twelve

Stock MSPCUPS 235 front and 295 rears work just fine.

thanks,
i dont much like the r888 anyways, i have the car to a point where the camber used works well with most tires and is very predictable, having to dial it out just to run r888 doesnt seem worth it for me. i didnt realise the 305 would bulge on an 11J though given its bang in the middle of its supposed range. thanks for that info.

have you run the michelin cup spec'd tires on cup wheels on a GT3. how do these fit? given i have all the data sheets for these if i know they will fit fine i can then use the dimensions to pick something i like.

Fine on width. Not on height, 680s tend to rub, as they are almost 27" high. Besides, you should NOT run 64s with 68s. That's too much height difference and your ABS will not like it.

PS2 works well for me.

I run 245/315 Hoosiers with no problem. Lots of folks use this combo. The new 255 also works with the 315 You can also run MPSC in 235/295, Nitto NT01 in 245/315, Toyo R888 in 245(255)/305(315), Yoko A048 235/315, and Kuhmo 710 245/305.

You can run just about the same alignment setups for all of these. I don't run the Kassumaul alignment, instead I run -3F/-2R, with 2' of toe. I get very even wear with 245/315 (don't even have to flip the tires, just swap sides).

If money is really burning a whole in your pocket, you can try the new Hoosier R100 or R80. I think 250/650 305/645 are the right sizes, but I have not personally run these.

Stay away from CUP sizes, The diameter does not work with street car ABS.

245/40 315/30 18 R6's or 250/650 305/645 18 Hoosier R100 both work.

Toyo is having a fire sale of RA1's in GT3 sizes @ Frisby Tire or you can run Nitto NT01 as a dual purpose arrive and drive tire
