To tint windows or not to tint windows on a Black GT3 MK2??

to tint or not to tint????????
no question, especially with a black car!!!!!!!!!!!! Had it done at the dealer - Florida, front driver and passenger windows slightly lighter than rear side windows and rear windshield....................................

what % is that?

%?
Not exactly sure, but since it was done by dealer, it is at the Florida legal limit and none over-not exactly sure what it is, maybe 17 % front and 20% rear and sides...........................on sunny Florida days, I barely notice the tint-ion fact, it would be difficult for me to get accustomed to driving without tint. Stay within youre states limits and deon't go with after market darker tint-it definitely makes a difference on night driving with the darker, illegal tint.

If your an old guy like me, I would say keep it functional; nothing more. Don't do it for looks.
75 will make the car more comfortable on a hot sunny day and not noticeable at night or on a cloudy day.
I personally feel that too dark of a tint on black tends to get rid of the definitions of the car. Fine on a limo but who wants to hide a Porsche.
I had also been looking a black GT3 and feel that it could use one thing for looks. While I am not a fan of black wheels (wheels and tires look like one piece), I find the all black with polished lip really makes the car sinister looking while keeping the line between the wheels and tires, so you can see where the wheel ends and the tires begin.

Not old here, 45. I had my wheels powdercoated black and had the centercap painted black with the crest taped off. No comparison for me-semi matte black powdercoat easy to clean, water and soap, brake dust is not nearly as noticeable and it gives that aggressive look.
I respect the differences of opinion- I kept the 19" S wheels on my 09 C2 which were a $1,500 option and added only $800 to get the wheels podercoated and center caps painted-with labor. I can't think of any single option on a Carrera than black wheels that makes a stronger statement.

Here's my input. First is it a daily driver? If so, then you may want to consider doing it a very light tint, still easy to see through at night. To me that's important because night time driving with tint can be difficult. 2nd, is it garaged? The reason I ask is because if it's kept in a garage most of the time and not a daily driver then I wouldn't worry about it. One of the benefits of tint aside from cooler temps in the hot sun (that's what A/C is for anyway right?) is that it protects the leather/alcantara/cf from deteriorating as quickly since it blocks out almost 100% of the UVA/UVB rays which can cause damage after years of exposure. If it's garaged and not a daily driver, then this isn't so much of a problem. If you plan on doing some track days, personally, I want as much visibility on a track as possible and tinting does hamper your view, ever so slightly, but like I said, on the track it could mean the difference of tapping someone else or not. Lastly, California does not LEGALLY allow ANY tint on the front windshield or the driver and passenger doors, so you'd only be able to tint the back three windows. If I was gonna have it tinted, I'd say just do all five windows in the lightest shade simply for the UV protection. Aesthetically in my opinion it does look better tinted but looks only mean so much. Only you can answer weather or not it's something you want to do, but hopefully you'll be able to make your decision by taking into account how you use your car and your needs. Let us know what you decide!

I did a 50% all around except front and have been happy w/ the appearance and the nighttime visibility is fine. I've found that 35% is too dark for me to feel comfortable backing up at night.

That 50% tint looks awesome. Thats something I might consider.

i'm not a porsche owner.. yet
but the reason i haven't tinted any of my cars is that i'm told they need to take the door panel off and i'd like to leave as much untouched as possible in case people can't put things back right
but i've been debating a tint on my z4m as the visor doesn't rotate to the side..

+1. 50% or none. I am not a fan of tint.
