how come insurance is only $2700/yr for our $450k CGT while the $200k Stradale is $1800?
You may want to make sure the ins company knows exactly what it is, that sounds way low considering to cost to repair one of these suckers. Could they be that ignorant? If I had an ins company, I don't think I'd insure that car, period.

The one that was wrecked a while back in San Diego was mistakenly insured as a GT3 although the insurance company stepped up and paid for it anyway - at about the cost of a GT3 plus $50k

Hard to figure how that could happen. Any time I add a car to my policy they ask for the VIN, and the computer knows what model it is from that, no mistakes possible.

Yep, I went over it several times to make sure. They have the VIN and my insurance card says Carrera GT. If anything happens, they'll be paying! I think all this claims history had not yet occured (absent the $150k rear end job here) when that number was spit out to me.
