Smokin' 2010 GT3

Anybody with a 2010 GT3 3.8 having a smoking problem on startup? If I start it in the garage with the doors down, there's a cloud develops....

It does stop after a moment. Is this due to the dry sump and some sort of oil leak down?

Maybe a track day would fix it....hmmmm

Normal. My can now has 1800 miles
on it with one mild track day, no problems. I have
found that if I let the car run for 30 seconds or so at the end of the day before I put it away for a few days, the next time I use it I get little or no smoke.

Yup. Smoke & also a "bad" sound on startup when it sits for at least 4 days between starts. Normal I think.

All gt3s smoke since there’s no check valve (unlike on the turbo) between the oil tank and the oil pump input in the block…

NOW THERE'S THE TECHNICAL ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!

OK, next question....

I stood around in the garage and inhaled the smoke for a few minutes and kinda liked it. Do I need professional help?

What he said. The sound is just like my garbage disposal trying to eat a spoon. (its the cam tensioner when it looses tension) And it all runs like a scalded dog! As normal as can be.

My answer would be no. Seems normal for a gear head...

My 2010 GT3 does the same....They say it is normal, although none of my other Porsches smoke. I had a 996 that smoked on start-up. Any word from Porsche on this? It does look pretty bad....
