hockey21 is infamous around these parts
I cannot imagine why anyone would buy a new car OR lease one. cars with 800-1900 miles are at least 10-20% below sticker price, and ones with 10k+ miles are almost 25-30% below sticker.

Especially for car enthusiasts who don't mind or in some cases enjoy market research/ buying/ reselling after 1-3 years of use. Why not let somebody else take the almost 20k dollar cost / almost 10 - 15 dollars a MILE for the initial few months of use?

It is just like the lease vs. buy debate - one size does not fit all. To some people, it is worth every penny to spec the car exactly how they want it, anticipate the arrival and eventually drive home in the car that exactly matches their dreams. To others, it is tremendously satisfying to save 20%, compromise on a small detail here or there, and stick the first guy with a major depreciation hit. There are lots of other possibilities, but it all works when everyone just makes whatever decision is best for them.

I am typically of this viewpoint. However, the GT3 is an exception because 1) it's held its value well; 2) the used ones that are for sale are typically white; 3) the car is improved for 2010 - I think Porsche neared perfection with the 2010 model; and 4) loans for new cars are both easier to get and have lower interest rates - the same applies with leases, perhaps even more so.

If the 2007s looked identical to the 2010s and still had a few years of warranty, I'd be set on buying used.

Having said all of this, I love the 2007-08 model, and for the right price, I'd buy one....

Hypocrite.
