2010 GT3 Options

Dave W,
I happen to coincide with your thoughts. I test drove a 997 GT3RS on the street and found it to be as suitable for the road as my Carrera S. Yet as you know, the capabilities of the GT3 are fully exploited on the track, and I think that's what others are suggesting on this forum. Thanks for your thoughtful advise.

This is my first gt3(2010),previosly owned 997tt and after hearing so many negative comments about street usability,i was really surprised how comfortable the car is(with the lift option i have taken it everywhere without scratching it). the only time i would not go in the gt3 is during traffic hours due to only the clutch being a little stiff for crawling traffic.
and the engine is def the best part about the gt3,its so smooth it barely has any engine breaking in the corners if you lift off.

BRAKES not breaks

Trundle997,
Thanks for your observation. At the risk of being defensive, I would like to suggest that there is a difference between a silly distraction or mental lapse and illiteracy. Please note that on my reply to Irysfan (see #14 above) I wrote ceramic "brakes" rather than "breaks."
"irysfan,
I agree, at $20,000 replacement cost, ceramics make one pause before pulling the trigger. However, heavy track use seems to be the culprit here. The consensus is that the current generation of ceramic brakes. . . ."
Again, thanks for the correction and please give me a "break" as I'm reasonably certain this "ain't going to be" my last senior gap.

Im with you on that one ... and I live n NYC... just have to WATCH the road loll Then open her up on the highways, and jug handle turns...once you get out of nyc
There is nothing wrong with the GT3 as a street car....many of us drive them every day as DD's. I do with my 2010 and I find it to be a very nice street car. I think you will find the same coming from the two cars you describe. And maybe after purchase you will decide it needs to be taken to some DEs or something. Don't let the "racers" steer you away...
