PS-My advice, is get what you like best, you say you want somthing out of the norm. well just about every 996TT on here has Techart and I believe only 2 or 3 have the Gemballa (Me and Swordsman for sure).

Notice how NONE of the people advocating for TechArt OR Gemballa own a GT car. Geez, I wonder why... the beauty of natural selection.
Some of us are here for performance, some of us are here for bling. It's easy to see where the line is drawn.

Putting a Techart GTStreet next to a GT2, the techart will look slightly tighter and more aggressive. So to all you GT2 owners IMMEDIATELY slap on a techart kit!................... I SAID NOW!!!!

But seeing as how you are a TechArt guy, your perspective on Porsches is probably different.

By the way hows the real estate market? Not as good as a year ago????
What does Darwin have to do with this? I dont get it does anyone else?
Some techarted cars in here are750 hp, 10 sec cars. Excellent handling and breaking capacity due to TA'd modified coilovers and brakes. Ask that guy Fred if his GTS performs.

Sometimes funtion is sacrificed for form, ask any architect, however that s not the case with techart body kits.
Oh and theres actually a few techarted GT2s, maybe even the guy that started this thread.
ps u got a pm

PS-Do you even realize he didn't ask for people opinions on whether or not he should do a kit?? He asked WHICH kit. Obviously he made up his mind he doesn't want to keep the stock kit or he would have said "Gemballa or Techart or STOCK for my GT2?". so why bother putting in your $.02 that are completely irrelivent to his question?

Oh, and as for for Fred's car... his car is quite nice and I know it very well. Perhaps you forgot that I owned the car where his car came in 9th at the EC Shootout and mine came in 1st.
You actually think TechArt modified coilovers or brakes are the pinnacle of performance? What a f@#king joke. Obviously, you have not heard of people like Bob Linton or Cary Eisenlohr, who are involved with Porsche racing efforts. Real motorsports gurus.
Once again, what would be helpful for this discussion is if you actually knew what you are talking about.

And as far as real estate goes (commercial or residential), anyone that has to boast about his portfolio couldn't possibly be doing all that great. But Im not surprised, you seem neither bright nor talanted.
Oh and you talking about "owning" some guys car, arent we really splitting hairs? Just the fact that a modified turbo is in the same race with a GT2 (modded or not) should tell you that the performance is there, wouldnt you agree? However, I believe my argument was that techart>GT2 in the sense that a techart modified turbo might outperform a stock gt2 . Maybe I should clearify so that the feeble minded also will understand. Techart a turbo and get better performance than a stock GT2 and you still might get change left over in your pocket. Besides for me the Techart modding is also about the aesthetics. A GTS is just more visually pleasing than the GT2.
I really feel that you're whole argument is off target, what really would help this discussion is if you managed to stick to the topic.
Happy New Year Hamann, may you have an interesting next fiscal year

I find it funny that you accuse me of drifting on topic as if I was the one who started making the non-sequitur statements.
Isn't it you who started making snide comments about the real estate market?
I think your problem is that you argue about things you don't really know about.
So let's get back on topic, shall we?
Since when has TechArt produced a modified Turbo that outperforms a GT2? Their best performing car, the GT Street XL, is based on a GT2. This car lapped the Nordschliefe in 7:43.4, or a whopping 2.5 seconds faster over 12 miles with 620 HP, a 160HP increase. Do you really call that impressive when a factory stock GT3-RS runs a 7:40 with only 380hp?
Name ONE TechArt car that has ever raced in any series? It's great that you are a fan of TechArt, but to flaunt their performance achievements is a joke. They are not even in the same level as Ruf, and that is a fact.
It is obvious that it is futile to argue with you. I doubt you have even driven a GT2 or GT3...

According to Porsche, a stock GT2 does the following:
0 - 100 kmph 4.0 s
0 - 160 kmph 8.3 s
top speed 319 kmph
According to Techart, the GTS (996 TT based) does:
0 - 100 kmph 3.8 s
0 - 160 kmph 8.0 s
top speed 335 kmph
It looks like the GTS edges the GT2 in this comparison. However, I still feel like we're splitting hairs. What my beef with the GT2 is, is that at an msrp of 191 K usd vs the base turbos 118 K usd, you still get 73 K usd left over to play with. As far as I know the GTS conversion doesnt cost that much. So at the end of the day you still might get change left over in your pocket. Although we're comparing apples and oranges, for me the GTS simply is more bang for the buck.
Tyson, I'd like the end this with yet another snide comment about your apparent short commings , but why even bother? Instead let me congratulate you on your GT3.
