Gemballa or TechArt Conversion to GT2
#46
Hey Tyson lol
No apparently were not talking about the same thing, read my posts before you start complaining about reading comp. I think when the thread was started the cars in question were GT2, Techart and Gemballa. The GT3 RS was never mentioned and ruf barely came into the equation. Last time I inquired about the GTS package it came nowhere near the 73 K usd to bring it up to the specs mentined above.
Loooooooool liberal belonging in f d up place like Stockholm Puahahahahah! Have you ever been? My political convictions actually lie more to the right. Since Im here on a green card I actually cant vote for president but I believe my values coincide more with republican values than democratic or liberal ones. So please stop pulling shiot outta ure *** Tyson. lol!
Ps I thought u wanted to get back to the topic? What does politics have to do with car performance? Could it be that you're running out of arguments so you have to resort to profanities?

Once again, lap times vs. straight line acceleration. Do you know the difference? Obviously not, because you aren't addressing the issue.
TechArt GT Street conversion consists of engine conversion to 646hp, which costs about $50,000+, then the bodykit which is about $25,000, then you have the wheels at $5000 per set, suspension runs another $5000 or so, brakes are probably around $8-10,000, plus labor and paint. The actual cost of the full conversion is well over $100,000.
There goes your cost effectiveness argument.
Now, if a GT2-based GT Street can only run 2.5 seconds faster than a bone stock early model GT2 around the 'Ring, there is no way a 996 Turbo based GT Street will be able to even match a stock GT2. The reasoning is that delta between a stock Turbo and GT2 is about 10 seconds. No way will a Turbo based TechArt GTS will be 10 seconds faster than stock, especially with the front driveshaft disconnected.
I bet you didn't know that. For engine conversions above 600hp, TechArt disconnects the front driveshaft so that the car is RWD. If that is the case, why even own a 996TT???
Now, enlighten us as to why the TechArt cars are so superior? They are not even a real performance tuner.

Again please read my post. I stated that performance has several aspects. When you asked me when a Techart turbo actually outperformed a GT2 I simply gave you an example of it. Surely you cant fault me for answering your question? And as far as cost effectiveness I think the pricing you're quoting is a bit skewed. Furthermore body modifications actually dont need to be included to bring the car up to above mentioned specs.
Tyson please calm down lol. I can totally picture you fuming in front of the computer. Man you must be a really angry person.

Tyson, you lost me at the Liberal analogy... No self respecting Liberal would be seen dead in a Techart or Gemballa - you know this. Everyone knows Republicans, big **** and bodykits are all about superfluity.

That is some ****.
But in actuality, I believe that most people involved in **** are in fact LIBERALS.
Republicans are pervs too, but we are more discreet about it.

I like this rear end with my front end ... my front is simply GT3R front fenders converted to turbo headlights .... and a widened GT2 front bumper which is the best we can do aero wise on a cheap budget I think....

Cary, did you repaint your black car or did you get another project car?
OK gentlemen, notice how nice and functional his car looks. The reason why it works aero-wise is because it is factory, and factory has real aerodynamic engineers with real wind tunnels and a research budget far more than little companies like TechArt, who aren't even involved in motorsport. A bodykit should be FUNCTIONAL.
