porsche newbie: 2009 GT3 or 2010 GT3, differences?

Hi guys,

I have never been a porsche fanatic, or let alone owning one, but the past couple of weeks ive been thinking of chasing a 2010 GT3 slot they have down at the dealership. i cant relate much in-terms of any porsches driving feel but i can relate to BMW M3s since ive driven all (e30 till e92 m3). this would be my first porsche, .

anyways.. what are the differences between 2009 GT3 and 2010 GT3, are there lots of differences (engine and cosmetic wise)? any suggestion for a gt3 newbie? cheers.

RR

GT3 are made in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010 and will have 2011

All I can say is... once you drive the GT3 there's no going back. There's nothing else like it, and no BMW even comes close. The GT3 is completely uncompromised- a pure driving machine!

3.6 to 3.8 engine
415 HP to 435 HP
17 more TQ
Lighter dual mass flywheel
Centerlock wheels
180 pounds more down force
Better suspension
Better brakes
25 lbs lighter (I think)
100 more RPM redline
No sunroof
Different better looking front/rear bumpers
Dynamic engine mounts and front lift avaliable
Faster
And probably other stuff I dont remember...

Plus the following, if you don't mind: (You hit all of the major ones.)

The lighter mass flywheel is there to compensate for the heavier pistons, but I'm sure there is a benefit nonetheless.

In addition to the additional torque, the torque is stronger in the mid-range thanks to variable exhaust valve timing (first ever for Porsche).

The exhaust note is throatier.

I didnt think that the 2010 was any lighter; it'd be great if I'm wrong.

The PCM and trim is improved as is the Full Leather option offering much more Alcantara, which is very very nice BTW.

We have optional Sport Buckets, Bluetooth, iPod, XM and (improved Nav).

I know it was mentioned above, but the brakes are not only bigger (15" up front; as big as the PCCBs), but lighter than the cast predecessors. Plus, the rear rotors have addtional cooling ducts which draw air from underneath. (Yeah, they can be added to the .1 and are only a couple hundred or so, but they're still there as standard.)

Same goes for the wheels. BEAUTIFUL center locks that are also lighter.

Yeah, the bumpers are much better looking imo and have nicely applied mesh screens. Same goes for the rear wing; nicer, meaner looking, imo.

The suspension is not only more tuned in and planted, but also more compliant over the sharp stuff. Porsche even reduced the rear spring windings to save weight.

They made more changes to the .2 facelift than some model changes.

Is it generally accepted that Porsche will produce a 2011 MY GT3? Any reason for them not to?
